High resolution vegetation polygons mapped by the National Park Service. The vegetation units of this map were determined through stereoscopic interpretation of aerial photographs supported by field sampling and ecological analysis. The vegetation boundaries were identified on the photographs by means of the photographic signatures and collateral information on slope, hydrology, geography, and vegetation in accordance with the Standardized National Vegetation Classification System (October 1995). The mapped vegetation primarily reflects conditions that existed during 1994 and 1995. The Great Plains Landscape Conservation Cooperative (GPLCC, http://www.greatplainslcc.org/) is a partnership that provides applied science and decision support tools to assist natural resource managers conserve plants, fish and wildlife in the mid- and short-grass prairie of the southern Great Plains. It is part of a national network of public-private partnerships — known as Landscape Conservation Cooperatives (LCCs, http://www.fws.gov/science/shc/lcc.html) — that work collaboratively across jurisdictions and political boundaries to leverage resources and share science capacity. This dataset is the finished product of the NPS Vegetation Mapping Project at Fire Island National Seashore. This dataset depicts the association-level vegetation map for the entire length of Fire Island and the William Floyd Estate. The park islands in the Great South Bay can be found in a separate file included on the disk. These vegetation polygons were interpreted and delineated from 1:1200-scale true-color aerial photographs taken in April 1997. They are attributed with NVCS associations as well as height, pattern, and density information.
This project uses bottom-up modeling at a parcel scale to measure the effects of sea-level rise (SLR) on coastal ecosystems and tidal salt marshes. At selected tidal marshes, the project team will measure several parameters that will be incorporated into ArcGIS models creating comparable datasets across the Pacific coast tidal gradient with a focus on 2-4 sites in the California LCC (e.g. San Diego, San Francisco Bay Refuges). Studies utilizing Global Positioning System (GPS) telemetry rarely result in 100% fix success rates (FSR). Many assessments of wildlife resource use do not account for missing data, either assuming data loss is random or because a lack of practical treatment for systematic data loss. Several studies have explored how the environment, technological features, and animal behavior influence rates of missing data in GPS telemetry, but previous spatially explicit models developed to correct for sampling bias have been specified to small study areas, on a small range of data loss, or to be species-specific, limiting their general utility. This study focuses on obtaining information about populations of Brown Pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis carolinensis) across the northern Gulf of Mexico. San Francisco baywide eelgrass layer with density attributes developed from data collected in 2003 and 2009.These data are intended to identify existing eelgrass beds and conditions under which eelgrass can occur throughout the Bay. In addition, the program is designed to identify current eelgrass stressors and opportunities for enhancement of eelgrass communities within the Estuary. The results of the Program will facilitate management of eelgrass habitat resources in the Bay by providing regulatory and resource agencies additional knowledge of the status, distribution, and environmental parameters of eelgrass within this highly dyna mic system.

This database contains information on over 900 public water supplies in Wyoming, including location data (some locations collected with GPS), and enforcement and compliance tracking related to regulation compliance to the Safe Drinking Water Act. The database was compiled in dBase format, containing latitude and longitude fields which allows it to be easily converted by a GIS into a spatial database. It is currently distributed in ArcView shapefile and ARC/INFO coverage export format, though these versions may not be as up-to-date as the database in dBase format.
