These data describe microbiological analyses performed on groundwater samples from domestic drinking water supply collected from 42 groundwater wells in the Central Valley of California. Samples were collected between January 2014 and April 2014 for the Groundwater Ambient Monitoring and Assessment (GAMA) program priority basin assessment of the Madera, Chowchilla, and Kings (MACK) groundwater sub-basins’ shallow aquifers. A total of 75 wells were sampled for the MACK study unit between August 2013 and April 2014. The dataset consists of genotypes (diploid base calls at variant sites) at 3,601 anonymous sites of the Arizona Toad (Anaxyrus microscaphus) nuclear genome. This dataset consists of the microsatellite genotypes, collection data, and ownership data for 1461 specimens of Bombus occidentalis. The dataset includes both recognized subspecies, Bombus occidentalis occidentalis and Bombus occidentals mckayi. The subspecies have since been elevated to species status and are currently described as Bombus occidentalis and Bombus mckayi. The specimens were collected from across the historical species range primarily between 1960 and 2020, with few specimens from earlier than 1960 and the oldest from 1904. The specimens are owned and housed by 10 different institutions, which is noted for each specimen.

Tabular and raster data containing spatial capture recapture records for male and female black bears (Ursus americanus) in Glacier National Park and surrounding landscape collected from June - October 2004 and associated tabular data files required for analysis of data with spatial capture connectivity models and raster data describing the ouput from SCR models. Associated tables and rasters include details for traps, the state space and connectivity space required modeling and associated spatial covariates tested in models, as well as rasters describing black bear population density, habitat use, and population connectivity.
Lake Sinai Viruses (LSV) are common ribonucleic acid (RNA) viruses of honey bees (Apis mellifera) that frequently reach high abundance but are not linked to overt disease. LSVs are genetically heterogeneous and collectively widespread, but despite frequent detection in surveys, the ecological and geographic factors structuring their distribution in A. mellifera are not understood. Even less is known about their distribution in other species. Better understanding of LSV prevalence and ecology have been hampered by high sequence diversity within the LSV clade. Inaccurate systematics confound our ability to determine evolutionary processes that have led to the diversification of many taxa. The North American freshwater mussel tribe Lampsilini, Ihering, 1901, is one of the more well-studied groups in Unionidae; however, many supraspecific relationships between lampsiline genera remain unresolved. Two genera that have been largely overlooked are Leptodea and Potamilus, which have both been hypothesized to be non-monophyletic. We set out to resolve supraspecific relationships in Lampsilini and test the monophyly of Leptodea and Potamilus using an integrative approach. Here we present details on our molecular, morphological, and distribution data.

This dataset includes microsatellite genotypes for 16 collections of tiger beetles (Ellipsoptera puritana) distributed in Connecticut and Maryland, United States and 44 collections of Habroscelimorpha dorsalis dorsalis and 14 collections of H. d. media distributed from Massachusetts to Florida, United States.
Data included are DNA sequences used to identify species boundaries among Ichthyophonus-like parasites. Sequences were generated for three gene regions from each parasite isolate. DNA sequences can be downloaded from GenBank (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/) as text or fasta files. Accession numbers for each sequence are included in the data table (.csv file). Data includes 87 sequences (99,383 total nucleotides). Once manuscript is accepted there are no restrictions on dissemination of these data.

The data describe the technical performance of a designed qPCR assay for the detection of mucket (Actinonaias ligamentina) eDNA from field collected water samples. Parameters described include the sequences of the primers and probes used; the limit of detection and limit of quantification for the assay; a list of freshwater mussels species that were used to test specificity of the assay; and in situ field samples that were tested to the verify assay.
Tabular amplification data for individual technical replicates of tissue and water samples collected from Glacier National Park in 2020 and amplified with a Lednia tumana species-specific qPCR assay. Environmental DNA (eDNA) water samples were collected at 15 tree islands containing wading bird breeding colonies (order Pelecaniformes) and 15 empty control islands in the central Everglades of Florida in spring of 2017 (April through June) and analyzed for the presence of eDNA from invasive Burmese pythons (Python bivittatus). The Burmese python is now established as a breeding population throughout south Florida, USA. The African Jewelfish, Hemichromis letourneuxi, is an invasive, predatory cichlid fish introduced at least once to Florida. Its native range is in northeastern Africa. First encountered in Miami in the 1960s, it has since been found west and north within the state of Florida. It thrives in a wide range of aquatic habitats, including shallow, vegetated or rocky areas of canals, tidal creeks, rivers, and marshes.
Genetic samples in the form of a small blood sample were collected from 263 Bell’s vireos (Vireo bellii) in drainages throughout southern and central California, Arizona, southern Nevada, and southwestern Utah. We used population genomic techniques to delineate the range limit between the Least Bell’s Vireo (V. b. pusillus) and its conspecific geographical neighbor, the Arizona Bell’s Vireo (V. b. arizonae). Honey bees (Apis mellifera), a critical agricultural pollinator in many areas, have a high rate of infection with a large DNA virus, Apis mellifera filamentous virus (AmFV), yet little is known about its ecology or impact on honey bee colonies, other than its ubiquity and apparent low virulence.
