Desert Landscape Conservation Cooperative Boundary delineates the spatial extent of the DLCC. The vector boundary is available as both a shapefile and KML file. This is a derivative product of the LCCs shapefile produced by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, accessed from http:/http://www.fws.gov/GIS/data/national/ in 2014.To access the KML file, click on the ScienceBase URL and then select Open in Google Earth (KML). This tool provides the ability to search a vast, curated database for the Northwest Boreal region in one place. Spatial growth model was developed using population growth projections from the University of Tennessee Center for Business and Economic Research (UT-CBER), county urban growth boundaries, 2000 census blocks, and various ancillary datasets.

The Appalachian Mountains provide a multitude of habitats that are essential for hundreds of breeding, migrant, and wintering bird species. Its rugged terrain is dominated by forest and woodlands that span 15 states and contain several major eastern rivers that are heavily relied upon by waterfowl. But historical and current land-use changes, environmental disturbances, and other factors are resulting in population declines of more than 1/3 of bird species that breed and winter in the region. The South Atlantic Conservation Blueprint is a living spatial plan to conserve natural and cultural resources for future generations. It identifies shared conservation priorities across the South Atlantic region. The first Blueprint, Version 1.0, was released in March 2014. Blueprint 1.0 was based on a combination of expert input and partner plans and used a spatial scale of HUC-12 subwatersheds in the terrestrial environment and outer continental shelf lease blocks in the marine environment. The Northwest Boreal Landscape Conservation Cooperative (NWB LCC) is a partnership between agencies involved in land management across Alaska, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and British Columbia. The NWB LCC aims to coordinate science and support to decision makers for improving land management decisions. Knowledge gaps have been identified by the NWB LCC and are beginning to be filled. One of the priority information gaps is knowledge of the anthropogenic footprint currently on the landscape.The anthropogenic footprint is all the disturbance types made by various human activities, usually through some form of industrial development. Describing the social network that links the interconnected partners is the first step to leverage the network’s capacity to be greater than the sum of its parts. The Northwest Boreal Landscape Conservation Cooperative partners and a social network scientist are applying social network theory to create a system of nodes and edges of a Conservation Social Network. The LCC partners were surveyed in 2015 and again in 2018, in order to measure the dynamics of partner communication. From this research, the partnership aims to better leverage partner expertise and better facilitate collaboration across geographic and organizational boundaries.

The Circumboreal Vegetation Mapping (CBVM) group is a group of vegetation scientists within the Arctic Council’s CAFF Program devoted to mapping the vegetation of the entire circumboreal region. The aim of the CBVM project is to produce a vegetation map with geobotanical database and derived products for the entire boreal biome using a unified, international method for classifying and mapping boreal vegetation. In the proposed workshop we will focus on the Northwest Boreal LCC to unite it hierarchically with a vegetation map covering boreal North America and Eurasia.
