This part of the data release provides a slightly expanded georeferenced catalog of field evidence for maximum water levels attained near the south shore of Anegada during 2010 Hurricane Earl, of category 4. The catalog consists of 13 localities observed in February 2011, six months after the hurricane. Wrack of plant fragments was the high-water indicator identified at most of them. Elevations have been estimated by extracting bare-ground elevations from a 2014 lidar survey, and by adjusting for heights above ground to which the wrack extended. The localities include two in eastern Anegada that were not reported in https://doi.org/10.5194/adgeo-38-21-2014).

This release provides inventories of georeferenced evidence pertaining to extreme waves on Anegada, a low Caribbean island perched south of the Puerto Rico Trench: CORAL BOULDERS AND COBBLES -- Derived offshore, found inland. Boulder star coral Orbicella franksii (37 localities), brain coral Pseudodiploria strigosa (171), elkhorn coral Acropora palmata (36), mustard hill coral Porites astreoides (29). LIMESTONE BOULDERS AND COBBLES -- Derived and found onshore (633). MOLLUSCAN SHELLS -- Queen conch Aliger gigas, discarded by precolonial fishers (12 onshore heaps) and by modern fishers (40 offshore heaps); individual conch shells deposited inland by precolonial sea flood (59); tiger lucine Codakia orbicularis, also...

Digital elevation models (DEMs) were created from aerial imagery collected between September 08 and September 13, 2019, along the North Carolina coast between the Virginia-North Carolina border vicinity and Cape Lookout, North Carolina. These DEMs were created to document ground conditions post-Hurricane Dorian, which made landfall on the North Carolina coast on September 6, 2019. The DEMs help researchers estimate the land surface after Hurricane Dorian and were created to document inter-annual changes in shoreline position and coastal morphology in response to storm events using aerial imagery collections and a structure from motion (SFM) workflow. These data can be used with geographic information systems or...

Digital elevation models (DEMs) were created from aerial imagery collected May 08 and 09, 2020, along the North Carolina coast between the Virginia-North Carolina border vicinity and Cape Lookout, North Carolina. These DEMs were created to document recovery ground conditions after Hurricane Dorian, which made landfall on the North Carolina coast on September 6, 2019. The DEMs help researchers document inter-annual changes in shoreline position and coastal morphology in response to storm events using aerial imagery collections and a structure from motion (SFM) workflow. These data can be used with geographic information systems or other software to identify topographic and shallow-water bathymetric features.

Digital elevation models (DEMs) were created from aerial imagery collected between August 30 and September 2, 2019, along the North Carolina coast between the Virginia-North Carolina border vicinity and Cape Lookout, North Carolina. These DEMs were created to document ground conditions prior to Hurricane Dorian, which made landfall on the North Carolina coast on September 6, 2019. The digital elevation models (DEMs) help researchers estimate the land surface before Hurricane Dorian and were created to document inter-annual changes in shoreline position and coastal morphology in response to storm events using aerial imagery collections and a structure from motion (SFM) workflow. Orthoimages were created from aerial imagery collected between August 30 and September 2, 2019, along the North Carolina coast between the Virginia-North Carolina border vicinity and Cape Lookout, North Carolina. These RBG-averaged orthoimages were created to document ground conditions prior to Hurricane Dorian, which made landfall on the North Carolina coast on September 6, 2019. The RBG-averaged orthoimages help researchers estimate the land surface before Hurricane Dorian and were created to document inter-annual changes in shoreline position and coastal morphology in response to storm events using aerial imagery collections and a structure from motion (SFM) workflow. This data release presents structure-from-motion (SFM) products derived from aerial imagery surveys with precise Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) navigation data flown in a piloted fixed wing aircraft taken along the North Carolina coast in response to Hurricane Florence (available here https://coastal.er.usgs.gov/data-release/doi-P91KB9SF/). USGS researchers use the elevation models and orthorectified imagery to assess future coastal vulnerability, nesting habitats for wildlife, and provide data for hurricane impact models. The products span the coast over both highly developed towns and natural areas, including federal lands. These products represent the coast after Hurricane Florence and cover the Cape...
Revegetation and cattle production are major objectives in the reclamation plan for mine tailings at the Highland Valley Copper mine in Canada. Residual molybdenum (Mo) in the tailings is imbibed by vegetation and forages accumulate up to 400 ppm Mo at the Highmont tailings pond. Grazing studies with cattle determined the feasibility of utilising the site for livestock production and published results are reviewed. Clinical evaluations (1999?2001) revealed signs of lameness, diarrhoea and hair coat depigmentation in cows but they recovered without treatment. Supplement trials (2002 ? 2004) demonstrated the efficacy of copper (Cu) sulphate for the alleviation of clinical disorders. Dietary Mo was rapidly eliminated...
