The US Geological Survey Chesapeake Bay Watershed Land Cover Data Series, 2011 edition, (CBLCD-e11) consists of Level I Land Cover data for the years 1984, 1992, 2001, 2006 and 2011. It consists of a series of five 8-bit unsigned integer raster data files of 30 meter spatial resolution in Albers Conic Equal Area projection, NAD83 datum. The 1984 – 2006 data layers were created by aggregating most Level II Anderson classes of the USGS CBLCD Land Cover Data Series released in 2010 (Irani and Claggett, 2010).

This dataset summarizes impairment status for HUC12 watersheds at the CONUS scale using the EPA publicly available Assessment, Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Tracking and Implementation System (ATTAINS) geospatial package and the USGS Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD). ATTAINS is an online system maintained by the EPA containing information about the condition of the Nation’s surface waters, as reported by individual states. These data were downloaded in October 2023 and primarily reflect 2022 stream conditions. State of Utah's assessed lakes coverage (converted to 30m raster coverage) based on data created for the draft 2014 Integrated Report from Utah Division of Water Quality (DWQ) Feb, 2015. The Utah lakes depicted here were sampled in order to determine whether each water body should be categorized as impaired (under the 2014 draft report guidelines) based on EPA designations. These GIS data can be used to identify potentially impaired waters, based on statewide Assessment Unit (AU) polygons for Utah (USGS 5th and 6th hydrologic unit boundaries as developed by USGS in Salt Lake City, call Karen Hansen, 801-908-5038 for more info.)

Updated EPA impaired waters data was combined with the data used in the 2011 COP REA by the Conservation Biology Institute. The three dataset types (point, line, polygon) were converted to raster (at 30m resolution) to facilitate coverage calculations across reporting units.
