Inclined slaty cleavage has been deformed by nearly horizontal shear cleavage, which has offset each rock slice to the north (left) relative to the slice beneath. This breccia might be made up of sedimentary beds that overlay, in depth, the bedded salt from which the salt of the salt stock is derived and that were brecciated when the salt broke through them to form the stock.
