Northwest Territories biodiversity action plan - report two: gap and overlap analysis and recommendations for future actions The report contains many recommendations to improve NWT’s actions on biodiversity over the next ten years. Some of the most important recommendations for each core theme are described here. Species at Risk: Continue to work, primarily through the co-management system, towards management and recovery planning, involving all NWT groups interested in species at risk in the NWT. Protected Areas: Improve coordination among conservation, land use planning and development agencies to increase efficient use of resources and reduce the burden on community capacity. Sustainable Forests: Continue to update forest legislation and harmonize with all applicable legislation,including land claim legislation, to develop better tools...
