These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. Estimates of area and aerial extent of land-use categories are an essential component for computing the water budget of the High Plains aquifer. These raster land-use land class data represent yearly simulated future land use for the High Plains from 2009 to 2050 These data were developed using the FOREcasting SCEnarios (FORE-SCE) of future land cover model (Sohl and others, 2007; Sohl and Sayler 2008) for two (A2 and B2) of the...

Estimates of land use categories are an essential component for computing the water budget of the High Plains aquifer. These raster land-use data represent yearly estimated land use for the High Plains from 1949 to 2008. These data were developed using the FOREcasting SCEnarios of future land cover (FORE-SCE) model (Sohl and others, 2007) and then processed using a Geographic Information System (GIS). The GIS software used to process...
This raster file represents classification and mapping results for priority area 1 of the Cody Region and Yellowstone National Park land cover remote sensing project. Extensive field collected reference data describing the range of plant communities and habitat types comprising the Bighorn Basin have been analyzed to produce a classification of land cover types based on the Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGFD) Wildlife Observation System (WOS). Corresponding land cover classes were subsequently spatially modeled using a non-parametric Classification and Regression Tree (CART) algorithm that integrated both spectral data from Landsat Thematic Mapper satellite imagery and a variety of ancillary environmental data...

These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. This data set depicts land use and land cover from the 1970s and 1980s and has been previously published by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in other file formats. This version has been reformatted to other file formats and includes minor edits applied by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and USGS scientists. This data set was developed to meet the needs of the USGS National Water-Quality Assessment (NAWQA) Program.

This dataset contains polygons describing photo interpreted map classifications of the Tongass National Forest developed in 1978. The dataset's primary objective was to delineate major land types and their attributes. The land types were mapped at a polygon level - areas generally homogenous in character. Mapping was done to a 10 acre minimum except for non-commercial and non-forest types which were mapped to a 5 acre minimum. The classification identifies water as well as land. It segregates land into non-forest and forest. Polygons in forested areas were assigned a single, representative set of attributes; species composition, age, and volume class. Tim86 was updated in the 1980's (mostly in 1986) to reflect timber...
These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. This data set represents U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) historical Land Use and Land Cover (LULC) from the 1970's that has been refined with 1990 population density at the block group level to indicate new residential development representative of the 1990's. Any area having a population density of at least 1,000 people per square mile had been re-classified as "urban" land in this data set.

These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. The enhanced National Land Cover Data 1992 ("NLCDe 92") served as the primary source for nationally consistent mapped land cover during the first decade of sampling for the National Water-Quality Assessment (NAWQA) Program of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). This 30-meter (30-m) resolution digital map was developed by overlaying USGS's original satellite imagery-based 1992 National Land Cover Data ("NLCD 92") with selected classifications...
These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. This polygon data set provides ancillary information to supplement a release of enhanced U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) historical land-use and land-cover data. The data set presents some of the original file-header documentation, as well as some details describing how the data files were used in the data release, in a geographic context.

Raster file of land use and land cover mapping in the 'Lander' study area at 30m pixel level. Map extent corresponds to 6,490,062 acre area of central Wyoming in the counties Fremont, Natrona, Carbon, Sweetwater, and Hot Springs. A 3km buffer was applied to map extent extending the raster file into the counties of Washakie, Park, Teton, and Sublette.

Annual raster-based maps of LULC conditions for the years 1938 to1992 were created based on information on historical patterns and prescriptions of LULC change. The intent of these historical LULC projections was not to recreate exact past LULC conditions, but to provide useful maps of simulated historical land-cover for use in secondary analysis. The baseline LULC condition was derived from a modified version of the 1992 National Land Cover Dataset (http://www.epa.gov/mrlc/nlcd.html). Historic data and others were used to guide a spatially explicit (FOREcasting SCEnarios of land-cover change) land-cover forecasting model in allocating LULC change distributions on the landscape, based on logistic regression analysis...

This file geodatabase includes the 2013 Land Use/Land Cover (LULC) and the Marxan target rasters that were derived from it. For an explanation of why targets were selected and how they were derived, please refer to the report. The Python scripts used to generate the layers are also available via the GNLCC portal.
