Form a panorama of gently dipping lava flows and tuff beds, as seen looking down San Francisco Creek. Dog Mountain, center is capped by a remnant of latite and basalt of the Hinsdale formation; the upper steep slopes are Piedra rhyolite, the lower ones are Alboroto rhyolite. Conejos quartz latite underlies the flat foreground. The flows dip regularly toward the San Luis Valley. Rio Grande County, Colorado. July 1, 1916.
