In 2011 through 2013, when nests were found, notes were kept on whether it held eggs or hatchlings at the time of discovery, and how it was found. Ammodramus savannarum ammolegus (commonly referred to as the Arizona Grasshopper Sparrow) occurs in the desert and plains grasslands of southeastern Arizona, southwestern New Mexico, and northern Sonora, Mexico. Although a subspecies of conservation concern, this data was produced as part of the first intensive study of its life history and breeding ecology, providing baseline data and facilitating comparisons with other North American Grasshopper Sparrow subspecies. This study is described in the publication listed in the larger work citation of this metadata record.
Groundwater level dataset from test well E-14 in Las Cienegas National Conservation Area (2011–2021)
This dataset contains groundwater levels collected from a test well installed in the basin-fill aquifer within the Las Cienegas National Conservation Area. The groundwater levels are from discrete measurements made from March 17, 2011 – October 15, 2021.
This dataset contains discrete spring discharge measurements collected monthly approximately 180 feet downstream from the main Empire Spring orifice for years 2016–2021.

In 2011 through 2013, I took nest measurements within a week of nest failure or fledgling. However, in 2011, the first year of nest monitoring, I...

This study is described in the publication listed in the larger work citation of this metadata record. In 2011 through 2013, I mapped territories of male Grasshopper Sparrows and calculated territory size. A 95% kernel density estimate was used to calculate...
This dataset contains groundwater levels collected from a piezometer installed in the alluvial aquifer within Gardner Canyon in the Las Cienegas National Conservation Area. The groundwater levels were recorded by a pressure transducer at one to three hour intervals from March 2, 2012 – August 11, 2021.

This study is described in the publication listed in the larger work citation of this metadata record. In 2013, the dimensions (length and width) of 1–2 eggs were measured in a randomly selected subset of nests as soon after the nest was found as possible.
This dataset contains groundwater levels collected from a piezometer installed in the alluvial aquifer within Empire Gulch in the Las Cienegas National Conservation Area. The groundwater levels were recorded by a pressure transducer at one to three hour intervals from February 13, 2012 – December 1, 2021.
This dataset contains groundwater levels collected from a piezometer installed in the alluvial aquifer along a perennial reach Cienega Creek in the Las Cienegas National Conservation Area. The groundwater levels were recorded by a pressure transducer at one to three hour intervals from February 16, 2012 – August 11, 2021.
This dataset contains discrete surface-water discharge measurements collected monthly from Cienega Creek for years 2012–2021. The measurement site is near BLM piezometer WP 13 in the Las Cienegas National Conservation Area.
This dataset contains discrete spring discharge measurements collected monthly near the Empire Spring orifice for years 2007–2021.
In 2010-2013 a variety of measurements were taken from grasshopper sparrows captured as part of the study described below and referenced in the larger work citation of this metadata record. Measurements include age, sex, wing length, weight, and exposed culmen length.
