These data are a summary of modeled exposure of various lifeline infrastructure linear features and facilities (transportation, water supply and wastewater, oil and gas, electric power, and telecommunications) to potential hazards resulting from the HayWired earthquake scenario, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake occurring on the Hayward Fault on April 18, 2018, with an epicenter in the city of Oakland, CA. Existing hazard data (surface offset, ground shaking (mainshock and aftershocks), landslide, liquefaction, and fire following earthquake) were looked at alone and in combination with each other relative to the lifeline infrastructure linear features and facilities to provide estimates of potential exposure to various...

The data in this data release are comprised of one geospatial vector dataset and three tabular datasets related to the HayWired earthquake scenario, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake hypothesized to occur on April 18, 2018, with an epicenter in the city of Oakland, CA. The geospatial vector data are a representation of identified economic subareas for use in selected analyses related to selected counties in and around the San Francisco Bay region in California. Census tracts in seven economic subareas were identified, as was whether a tract potentially has a high concentration of building stock extensively or completely damaged by (1) earthquake hazards (ground shaking, landslide, liquefaction) and (2) all hazards (ground...

This dataset consists of over 800 field observations of ground failure (landslides, lateral spreading, and liquefaction) and other damage triggered by the 2019-2020 Puerto Rico earthquake sequence. The sequence started with a M4.7 earthquake on 28 December 2019, followed by many more earthquakes, including 15 larger than M5 (as of 7 July 2020). The M6.4 mainshock, which is thought to have triggered much of the observed ground failure, occurred on 7 January 2020. Most field reconnaissance efforts documented here took place as soon as possible after the mainshock, from 12-18 January 2020, to attempt to capture ephemeral data before evidence was destroyed by natural forces or repairs, but observations continued to...

Compilations of potential collocations between various lifeline infrastructure systems components (all lifeline components, transmission-level components only, distribution-level components only, more societally critical components only, and less societally critical components only) and their potential multi-hazard exposure...
These data are a geospatial representation of potential multi-hazard exposure intensity for the HayWired earthquake scenario mainshock, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake occurring on the Hayward Fault on April 18, 2018, with an epicenter in the city of Oakland, CA. These data take existing mainshock hazard data (surface offset, ground shaking, landslide, liquefaction, and fire following earthquake) and combine them into a single multi-hazard intensity surface intended for estimating the extent of potential exposure to these hazards. This vector .SHP dataset was developed and intended for use in GIS applications such as ESRI's ArcGIS software suite. These data support the following publication: Jones, J.L., Wein, A.M.,...

These data are an expanded geospatial representation of liquefaction probability for the HayWired earthquake scenario, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake occurring on the Hayward Fault on April 18, 2018, with an epicenter in the city of Oakland, CA. These data supplement the liquefaction probability analysis completed by Jones and others (2017) for the earthquake hazards volume of the HayWired earthquake scenario, which was the product of an analysis that created a detailed liquefaction probability map covering the northern Santa Clara County and western Alameda County areas. This expanded liquefaction probability dataset makes use of FEMA's Hazus-MH 2.1 loss-estimation software and liquefaction susceptibility data by Knudsen...

These data are a compilation of potential collocations between various lifeline infrastructure systems (transportation, water supply and wastewater, oil and gas, electric power, and telecommunications) components and their potential multi-hazard exposure resulting from the HayWired earthquake scenario, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake occurring on the Hayward Fault on April 18, 2018, with an epicenter in the city of Oakland, CA. Existing hazard data (surface offset, ground shaking, landslide, liquefaction, and fire following earthquake) were combined into a single multi-hazard intensity surface developed for this purpose. Several combinations of potential collocations between various lifeline infrastructure systems components--all...

These data include observations of liquefaction from ten earthquakes. The data are provided as a feature collection in a GeoJSON file format. Individual features are either points or polygons. Each feature has a single attribute called "earthquake" which gives the name and year of the earthquake associated with the liquefaction feature.
