Laboratory slide-hold-slide tests, combined with flow through tests, conducted on Westerly granite with 30 degree sawcut. Tests were conducted with a constant confining pressure of 30 MPa with an average pore pressure of 10 MPa at temperatures of 23 and 200 degC. Three fluid flow conditions were examined (1) no flow, (2) cycled flow, and (3) continuous flow.

Data are time series of clay shearing tests presented in 'Friction in clay-bearing faults increases with the ionic radius of interlayer cations' by Sakuma et al. in Communications Earth & Environment, 2022. Data were used for Figure 1 and Supplementary Figure 8 in that paper. Files contain shear strength as a function of fault slip in laboratory tests for brine-saturated montmorillonite clay.

Data collected in a series of laboratory experiments conducted with juvenile freshwater snails (Lymnaea stagnalis) reared in the laboratory and exposed to dissolved platinum (Pt), or polyvinylpyrrolidone coated platinum nanoparticles (PtNPs) of five different nominal hydrodynamic diameters in the presence (or absence) of natural organic matter (NOM) are presented in this data release. Files include 1) a data dictionary describing the variables; 2) exposure characteristics of the experimental solutions; 3) Pt concentrations in the experimental organisms; and 4) QA/QC performed during the analysis. Format of the files is comma delimited (*.csv). .

These data are the basis of the figures in the manuscript "A Wideband magnetoresistive sensor for monitoring dynamic fault slip in laboratory fault friction experiments". That report was the result of an investigation of a non-contact, wideband method of sensing dynamic fault slip in laboratory geophysical experiments which employs an inexpensive magnetoresistive sensor, a small neodymium rare earth magnet, and user built application specific wideband signal conditioning electronics. The magnetoresistive sensor generates a voltage proportional to the changing angles of magnetic flux lines, generated by differential motion or rotation of the near-by magnet, through the sensor. This data release comprises three separate datasets and their accompanying metadata, in zip files. The data were acquired as part of a laboratory study of the response of ultramafic materials to shear at hydrothermal conditions. The principal dataset consists of the strength-displacement data from 28 friction experiments acquired on gouges prepared from peridotite rock samples and from separates of its principal mineral constituents olivine and orthopyroxene. The other two datasets present mineralogical data for the run products obtained by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and energy dispersive system (EDS) techniques.

Silver nanoparticles (AgNP) are one type of contaminant that can enter treatment wetlands (Wiesner 2006) and impact the overall treatment efficacy. Grazing by filter feeding zooplankton, such as Daphnia magna, is critical to treatment wetland functioning (Ismail 2019), but the effects of AgNP on zooplankton are not fully understood, especially at environmentally relevant concentrations. In this study, the bioaccumulation kinetics of dissolved and nanoparticulate Ag in D. magna exposed to environmentally relevant Ag concentrations were characterized using isotopically labelled Ag as a tracer.
