This data release compiles the whole-rock geochemistry, X-ray diffraction, and electron microscopy analyses of samples collected from the uranium ore bodies of two mined-out deposits in the Grand Canyon region of northwestern Arizona—the Hack II and Pigeon deposits. The samples are grab samples of ore collected underground at each mine by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) during the mid-1980s, while each mine was active. The Hack II and Pigeon mines were remediated after their closure, so these data, analyses of samples in the archives of the USGS, are provided as surviving, although limited representations of these ore bodies. The Hack II and Pigeon deposits are similar to numerous other uranium deposits hosted...
This data release is a compilation of six earlier reports on natural occurrences of asbestos in the conterminous United States, which were published separately; these are Van Gosen (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010) and Van Gosen and Clinkenbeard (2011). The earlier reports were compilations divided by regions of the United States; in each report the data were provided in spreadsheet format. This data release combines the regional datasets into a single compilation for the entire conterminous United States, and includes shapefiles and spreadsheet formats. This data release provides site-by-site information on 876 natural occurrences of asbestos reported within the conterminous United States. This dataset allows the...

Mining feature symbols digitized from 1:24000 scale, 7.5 minute USGS topographic quadrangles as scanned by the Stephen P. Teale Data Center (July, 1998).
These data sets contain the attributes and indicators associated with aquatic EI and were categorized by size, landscape context, and conditionset in the Northwestern Plains Ecoregion. The data for the Aquatic EI used information from the Aquatic Threat analysis performed by the Missouri River Assesment Program (MoRAP). The MoRAP aquatic threat analysis contains information about each threat analysis attribute, indicator and metric arbitrarily quantified (1,2,3) for the 6th level Hydrological Unit (HUC12). These attributes were calculated for the entire HUC 12, the streams within the HUC 12, or the riparian corridor within the HUC 12. For this analysis MoRAP used arbitrary values were assigned good =3, fair =2 and...
This table contains information about the amount of each threat analysis attribute, indicator and metric quantified for the 6th level Hydrological Unit (HUC12). These attributes were calculated for the entire HUC 12, the streams within the HUC 12, or the riparian corridor within the HUC 12. The attributes were calculated using ArcMap Tools. These data are provided by Bureau of Land Management (BLM) "as is" and may contain errors or omissions. This dataset presents information about facilities relating to the mineral industries of Latin America and the Caribbean. Facilities include mines, mineral processing plants (including refineries and smelters), oil and gas field locations, and petroleum refineries. Relevant data fields include the mineral commodity, specific forms of the mineral commodity produced, location information, facility name, operator, ownership of the facility, annual production capacity, operational status, as well as geographic coordinates and locational accuracy. These data are derived from data presented by country by the Global Minerals Analysis section of the U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) National Minerals Information Center (NMIC)...
The Public Land spatial data sets (shapefile) contains Public Land Survey section polygons that had mining claims recorded in the U.S. Bureau of Land Management's LR2000 database as of December 31, 2010 (from a March 1, 2011 data extraction) for the period from 1976 to 2010 in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Alaska was not updated in version 4
