These data depict the National Hydrography Dataset Plus Version 2.1 (NHDPlusV2.1) flowline representation of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System throughout the conterminous United States as of 2018. U.S. Forest Service geospatial data on National Wild and Scenic River segments (USFS WSR Segment) from 3/1/2016 were joined to the NHDPlusV2.1 to create the Wild and Scenic Rivers 2018 Linked to the NHDPlusV2.1 (wsr_nhdpv2.1) data. To ensure these data correctly represented the NHDPlusV2.1 flowline delineation of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System, each wsr_nhdpv2.1 river segment was examined against the USFS WSR Segment data to check for duplication and/or omission of Wild and Scenic River segments. Spatial...

The locations of approximately 26,000 current and historical U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) surface-water monitoring gaging stations have been indexed to the NHDPlus Version 2.1 stream network. Part of the USGS National Water Information System (NWIS), these gaging stations measure water flow and water levels in streams and lakes. The NHDPlus V2 stream network locations for these gaging stations differ from stations' latitude/longitude provided in NWIS. The NWIS coordinates are frequently not coincidenet with the NHDPlus stream network.

This data set contains U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) streamgage matching results in tabular format for water-quality sites retrieved from the Water Quality Portal for the Delaware River Basin. The table contains a list of water-quality sites joined to USGS streamgages where the water-quality site and USGS streamgage are located on the same stream, as represented by the National Hydrography Dataset Plus (NHDPlus) "LevelPathID" attribute. The file represents a one-to-many relationship: each water-quality site, as represented by the unique identifier, "MonitoringLocationIdentifier", is joined to anywhere from zero streamgages (not on same stream as any gage; the gage info columns are NA) to one or more streamgages...

A crosswalk table between NHDPlus version 2.1 flowlines (using the unique field COMID) and the Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD) 12-digit-hydrologic units (HU-12) is provided for the 48 contiguous United States. The crosswalk table provides a WBD HU-12 assignment for every networked flowline in the NHDPlus. In this way, the network developed for navigation and modeling, NHDPlus, is aligned with accounting units of the WBD HU-12s to the extent possible given the assumptions that were made in creating each. A crosswalk table for NHDPlus isolated sinks was produced by a simple overlay process where the sinks were assigned HU-12 values based on their position relative to the WBD snapshot HU-12s. This table was integrated...

This record describes a series of comma separated files containing mean rates of monthly total nitrogen (TN), ammonium (NH4), and nitrate atmospheric (NO3) wet deposition attributed to NHDPlus version 2 (NHDv2, Moore and Dewald, 2016)) catchments for the period of record, October, 2006 to September, 2017. Units are in kilograms per square kilometer (kg/km2).

This USGS data release includes a shapefile of outlet point locations for 12-digit hydrologic units (HU12s) from the Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD), dated August 13, 2020 (U.S. Geological Survey and others, 2020), draining to the Gulf of Mexico in the south-central and southeastern United States. The outlet locations were derived by combining the WBD boundaries with flow direction grids from the National Hydrography Dataset Plus (NHDPlus) v 2.1 (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Geological Survey, 2012). Most of the outlet locations were determined by finding the cell with highest flow accumulation from the NHDPlus flow-direction grids within each WBD HU12 boundary. Some locations were found to be...

The basin boundaries available here are derived from the Geospatial Fabric for National Hydrologic Modeling (Viger and Bock, 2014). The Geopspatial Fabric provides a consistent, documented, and topologically connected set of spatial features that create an abstracted stream/basin network of features useful for hydrologic modeling. The GIS vector features contained in this Geospatial Fabric (GF) data set cover the lower 48 U.S. states, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Four GIS feature classes are provided for each Region: 1) the Region outline ("one"), 2) Points of Interest ("POIs"), 3) a routing network ("nsegment"), and 4) Hydrologic Response Units ("nhru"). A graphic showing the boundaries for all Regions is provided...
