This tabular data set represents the number and density of major National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) sites, as defined by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), compiled for two spatial components of the NHDPlus version 2 data suite (NHDPlusv2) for the conterminous United States; 1) number and desnity of major sites per individual reach catchments and 2) number and density of major sites accumulated upstream through the river network. This dataset can be linked to the NHDPlus version 2 data suite by the unique identifier COMID. The source data was acquired by James Falcone (USGS, written commun., 2010) from the EPA. Reach catchment information characterizes data at the local scale. Reach catchments...
This map service is used in MyWATERS Mapper to display the NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) permit status of facilities by state. Water pollution degrades surface waters making them unsafe for drinking, fishing, swimming, and other activities. As authorized by the Clean Water Act, the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit program controls water pollution by regulating point sources that discharge pollutants into waters of the United States. Point sources are discrete conveyances such as pipes or man-made ditches. Individual homes This map service is used in MyWATERS Mapper to display the NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) permit status...

This file includes facilities in California clipped from the EPA data set, and reports results from a spatial analysis of which facilities are located within the areas that would be inundated by a 100 year flood following a 1.4 meter sea level rise. Metadata for the EPA listed sites is included in this metadata. To improve public health and the environment, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) collects information about facilities, sites, or places subject to environmental regulation or of environmental interest. Through the Geospatial Data Download Service, the public is now able to download the EPA Geodata shapefile containing facility and site information from EPA's national program systems....
