This data release contains relevant datasets used in the analysis for the Chesapeake Bay stressor identification project, for which results are described in Fanelli and others (2022). For this project, two existing information sources were compiled and summarized to identify key in-stream stressors reported by the scientific literature or through regulatory assessments to be likely affecting benthic macroinvertebrate community metrics in the Chesapeake Bay region: 1) the peer reviewed multi-stressor literature, in which the effects multiple in-stream stressors on benthic macroinvertebrate community metrics are simultaneously assessed; and 2) reported causes of biological impairment as listed by state or district...
The Taupo Volcanic Zone (TVZ), New Zealand, is the most productive area of explosive silicic volcanism in the world. Faulted early and middle Pleistocene volcanic products are generally concealed beneath voluminous, generally unfaulted, younger volcanic products. An exception is the southeast margin of the TVZ where the two parallel, northeast-trending Paeroa and Te Weta Fault blocks expose Quaternary volcanic products consisting predominantly of caldera-related, rhyolitic ignimbrites and lacustrine sediments. The Taupo-Reporoa Basin is situated along the eastern part of the map area, and its northernmost part underwent collapse to form Reporoa Caldera. The Paeroa Fault block is the largest exposed fault block within...

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has compiled a geodatabase containing mineral-related geospatial data for 19 countries of interest in the Indo-Pacific region (area of study): Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Burma, Fiji, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nauru, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Korea (Republic of Korea), Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam. The data can be used in analyses of the extractive fuel and nonfuel mineral industries integral for the successful operation of the mineral industries within the area of study. This geodatabase reflects the USGS ongoing commitment to its mission of understanding the nature and distribution of global mineral commodity...

This dataset consists of 16 repeated magnetotelluric (MT) stations collected on Mount Tongariro, New Zealand, before (2009) and after (2013) the 2012 eruption. The data were collected in same locations with similiar instruments. Preeruption and posteruption electromagnetic magnetotelluric measurements determine variation in subsurface electrical properties resulting from changes in magmatic system associated with the 2012 eruptive cycle.

This dataset includes information compiled for the literature review meta-analysis portion for the Chesapeake Bay Stressor Identification Project. The dataset includes basic identifying information regarding the publication (last name of the first author, year published, study type, and number of observational units included in the study), the response metric for which results were reported, and the major source or driver that was the focus of the study. The dataset denotes for each stressor category whether a stressor was measured and whether the study’s analysis found it to be an important factor influencing the response metric. The results are reported for both coarse and fine stressor levels, since two stressor...

This dataset contains major and trace element compositions for a sample of basalt recovered from Rangitoto Island, New Zealand. Both bulk rock and microanalytical observations are made and presented. Electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) results detail the compositions of individual phases within the basalt including olivine, clinopyroxene, plagioclase feldspar, glass, and polyphase microcrystalline groundmass. Laser ablation inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) results detail trace element compositions for the glass as well as on select olivine grains. X-Ray fluorescence (XRF) data detailing major and minor element oxide concentrations were gathered using bulk rock powders. Additional tables detail...

This dataset includes summary information on the reports/studies compiled for the literature review portion of the Chesapeake Bay stressor identification project. This dataset includes basic identifying information regarding the report (name of the report, last name of the first author, year published, persistent link to the report, etc.). It also lists the geographic location of the study (U.S. states or countries for those outside the U.S.), the type of field study, the major source or driver that was the focus of the study, and which in-stream stressors were measured. Finally, the dataset includes a decision code to denote whether the study/report results were included in this project’s analysis or not. If not,...

This data release contains the boundaries of conventional assessment units for the assessment of undiscovered oil and gas resources in the Greater Taranaki and East Coast Basins, New Zealand. The Assessment Unit is the fundamental unit used in the National Assessment Project for the assessment of undiscovered oil and gas resources. The Assessment Unit is defined within the context of the higher-level Total Petroleum System. The Assessment Unit is shown herein as a geographic boundary interpreted, defined, and mapped by the geologist responsible for the province and incorporates a set of known or postulated oil and (or) gas accumulations sharing similar geologic, geographic, and temporal properties within the Total...
