Hyperspectral image data from the Niobrara River, Nebraska, November 2012 and August 2016 Hyperspectral image data from the Niobrara River, a dynamic, sand-bed channel in northern Nebraska, were acquired in November 2012 and again in August 2016 to support research on remote sensing of rivers, particularly retrieval of water depth and tracking of mobile bedforms. These data were collected by the Compact Airborne Spectrographic Imager (CASI) 1500H manufactured by ITRES Research Limited. The data were acquired from fixed wing aircraft and have spatial resolutions (pixel sizes) from 0.5 - 0.6 m. The data consist of a large number of spectral bands spanning the visible and near infrared wavelengths and have been radiometrically corrected. The image pixel values represent spectral radiance units of 1 uW cm-2... These data were obtained by conducting topographic surveys with Trimble R8 and R10 RTK GPS receivers with a local base station and also by measuring depths with a SonTek RiverSurveyor S5 acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP). The data are provided in a series of tables saved as *.csv files. Reflectance measurements were made by wading the Niobrara River near Norden Notch using an Analytical Spectral Devices FieldSpec3 spectroradiometer operated in reflectance mode.
