Sixteen species of Haliplidae belonging to three genera are recorded from Colorado: *Brychius hornii Crotch, Peltodytes callosus (LeConte), P. edentulus (LeConte), *P. litoralis Matheson, *Haliplus apicalis C.G. Thomson, *H. canadensis Wallis, H. cribrarius LeConte, H. deceptus Matheson, *H. distinctus Wallis, H. fulvus Fabricius, H. immaculicollis Harris, H. leechi Wallis, H. longulus LeConte, *H. stagninus Leech, *H. tortilipenis Brigham and Sanderson, and H. triopsis Say. These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. Digital surfaces and thicknesses of selected hydrogeologic units of the Floridan aquifer system were developed to define an updated hydrogeologic framework as part of the U.S. Geological Survey Groundwater Resources Program. This feature class contains contour lines generated from the APPZ raster.
We responded to the claim by Greenwald et al. (2005) that the management recommendations for the northern goshawk in the Southwestern United States (MRNG; Reynolds et al. 1992), a food web-based conservation plan that incorporated both northern goshawk (Accipiter gentilis) and multiple prey habitats, may be inadequate to protect goshawks. Greenwald et al. (2005) based this claim on their review of 12 telemetry studies of goshawk habitat selection and 5 nontelemetry studies of the effects of vegetation structure at the home range scale on goshawk nest occupancy and reproduction that appeared after the 1992 publication of the MRNG. Presence of invading annual bromes (Bromus spp.) can alter seasonal patterns of forage production and quality and require management changes for efficient use of infested rangelands in the Northern Great Plains. We studied biological impacts of the presence of brome by comparing brome infested rangeland to similar sites in which brome had been suppressed with autumn applications of atrazine [6-chloro-N-ethyl-N’-(1-methylethyl)- 1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diamine] at 0.56 kg ha-1 in 1992 and 1993.
