Cell maps for each oil and gas assessment unit were created by the USGS to illustrate the degree of exploration, type of production, and distribution of production in an assessment unit or province. Each cell represents a quarter-mile square of the land surface, and the cells are coded to represent whether the wells included within the cell are predominantly oil-producing, gas-producing, both oil and gas-producing, dry, or the type of production of the wells located within the cell is unknown. The well information was initially retrieved from the IHS Energy Group, PI/Dwights PLUS Well Data on CD-ROM, which is a proprietary, commercial database containing information for most oil and gas wells in the U.S. Cells were...

The Assessment Unit is the fundamental unit used in the National Assessment Project for the assessment of undiscovered oil and gas resources. The Assessment Unit is defined within the context of the higher-level Total Petroleum System. The Assessment Unit is shown here as a geographic boundary interpreted, defined, and mapped by the geologist responsible for the province and incorporates a set of known or postulated oil and (or) gas accumulations sharing similar geologic, geographic, and temporal properties within the Total Petroleum System, such as source rock, timing, migration pathways, trapping mechanism, and hydrocarbon type. The Assessment Unit boundary is defined geologically as the limits of the geologic...

This coverage is a spatial representation of most of the Pacific Northwest hatchery facilities in the StreamNet database. Information about the location of each hatchery was collected from StreamNet personnel at WDFW (Washington Dept of Fish & Wildlife), ODFW (Oregon Dept of Fish & Wildlife), IDFG (Idaho Dept of Fish & Game), and MFWP (Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks) and the tabular information about each hatchery in the StreamNet database was then added to each hatchery point in the GIS coverage

The USGS Central Region Energy Team assesses oil and gas resources of the United States. The onshore and State water areas of the United States comprise 71 provinces. Within these provinces, Total Petroleum Systems are defined and Assessment Units are defined and assessed. Each of these provinces is defined geologically, and most province boundaries are defined by major geologic changes. The Eastern Oregon-Washington Province is located in eastern Oregon and eastern Washington, encompassing all or parts of Baker, Clackamas, Crook, Deschutes, Gilliam, Grant, Harney, Hood River, Jefferson, Linn, Malheur, Marion, Morrow, Sherman, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, Wasco, Wheeler Counties in Oregon and all or parts of Adams,...

This data release for the reconnaissance geologic map of the Hells Canyon Study Area, Wallowa County, Oregon, and Idaho and Adams Counties, Idaho, is a Geologic Map Schema (GeMS, 2020)-compliant version of the geologic map published in U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Scientific Investigations Report Map SIR 2007-5046 (Simmons, et al, 2007). The database represents the geology for the 625,177-acre (2,530 square kilometers), geologically complex Hells Canyon Study Area in two plates, at a publication scale of 1:48,000. The study area includes (1) the Hells Canyon Wilderness; (2) parts of the Snake River, Rapid River, and West Fork Rapid River Wild and Scenic Rivers; (3) lands included in the second Roadless...

This point shapefile approximates locations within 20 km of the North Pacific Coastline, as defined by the "World Country Boundaries (Generalized)" shapefile distributed by ESRI as part of their Data & Maps data series. They are based on raster data at 4 km resolution. Therefore there are between 3-5 points extending out from each location along the shoreline (at 4 km intervals).

NWFP-20 - Northwest Forest Plan Effectiveness Monitoring (20-Year Report)Estimated completion June 2015This project is a continuation of research completed for the 15-year Report for NWFP Effectiveness Monitoring. We are continuing to develop and refine modeling techniques and data, to provide improved multi-date GNN maps of forest vegetation and older forest. Key improvements to GNN modeling to be implemented in this project are: (1) addition of more inventory plots, with yearly matching of plots to LandTrendr imagery for model development; (2) incorporation of measures of disturbance history, derived from LandTrendr algorithms, as spatial predictors; (3) improved GNN outlier analysis using TimeSync; and (4) additional...

StreamNet's Potential Fish Passage Barrier dataset captures both natural and man-made in stream features that have the potential to block fish passage (culverts, dams, debris jams, cascades, falls, etc.). Where information exists, fish passage ability is captured. This dataset is maintained and updated on an annual or semi-annual basis. The JUNE, 2012 publication dataset includes almost 60,000 features across the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, western Montana and California. Where possible, all barrier locations are georeferenced to StreamNet's regionally standardized routed hydrography layer (MSHv3) enabling comparison and analysis of barrier locations within the context of StreamNet's larger data holdings...

This dataset provides site locations as shapefile points. The format is a shapefile for all sites combined (.shp, .shx, .dbf, and .prj files). This dataset is part of a larger data release of metabolism model inputs and outputs for 356 streams and rivers across the United States (https://doi.org/10.5066/F70864KX). The complete release includes: modeled estimates of gross primary productivity, ecosystem respiration, and the gas exchange coefficient; model input data and alternative input data; model fit and diagnostic information; site catchment boundaries and site point locations; and potential predictors of metabolism such as discharge and light availability.

This data release component contains shapefiles of river basin polygons and monitoring site locations coincident with the outlets of those basins. A table of basin attributes is also supplied. Attributes, observations, and weather forcing data for these basins were used to train and test the stream temperature prediction models of Rahmani et al. (2021b).<\p>

The North Pacific Forest Landscape Corridor and Connectivity Project utilized a landscape connectivity simulator (UNICOR) and a genetic simulation program (CDPOP) to model the functional (dispersal and genetic) connectivity in the North Pacific Landscape. The outputs from these programs indicated areas with high potential for landscape and genetic isolation and low probability of dispersal and colonization. In addition, this project was designed to provide spatially-explicit predictions of current and potential future patterns of fragmentation, prioritization of keystone corridors for protection and enhancement, and identification of places that may require habitat restoration or assisted migration to maintain viability....
