Recent algal deposit from Green Lake, the upper rough part is grayish green, owing to the dense felt algae, whose tips were only incrusted with lime. The lower, smoother part, which was buried in a soft limy mud is yellowish gray, dense and without living algae. Onondaga County, New York. July 1926. Plate 29-B in U.S. Geological Survey.
