location plats, completion reports and driller's logs for oil and gas wells drilled within West Virginina. Approximately 25,000 of the early, pre-regulation wells only have location platsphysical logs are filled in 21 legal-sized filing cabinets
The SDF or Stratigraphic Data Files are a collection of paper drill records from thoughout Pennyslvania organized by 7.5 minute quadrangle. It is a prime source of subsurface lithology. Portions have been entered into the USGS NCRDS database. This is a Topo/geo resource which does not belong to any one staff member. The last estimate of the collection was 31,500 done is 1987. A better estimate is currently underway. The main use for the collection is in-house reference and research by PaGS staff.

This collection contains regulatory orders for each of the more than 2000 oil and gas fields in new Mexico. Data included are field creation/discovery data, area the field encompasses, dates when particular land plats were added to or incoprporated into the field, stratigraohic and areal definition of the field, and special rules and regulations governing operations in the field, and dates, rules and restrictions concerning waterflood, enhanced recovery, or unitization of the field. This information has been placed in an Access database by our staff and is also available in hardcopy volumes. There are 61 binders of information encopassing 13481 regulatory orders.
This collection includes unpublished maps in Arizona, which were compiled for uranium resource assessment, conducted in 1980. Collection includes National Uranium Resource Assessment (NURE) compilation project maps. This collection has not yet been cataloged. Please contact the Arizona Geological Survey to inquire about this collection.
This collection contains coalbed methane desorption data on 31 coalbed methane test wells drilled in new Mexico. There are 589 pages of information. We would like to prepare a digital catalog of this infomartion and link that catalog to scanned images of the reports in order to increase/maximize utility.
This collection contains 433 analyses of waters obtained from New Mexico water wells.
Minnesota Geological Survey maintains a database of over 4000 rock property values that are needed for geologic mapping, and are similarly used by partner agencies and by industry to support exploration. These data thus help relate geophysical anomaly signatures to probable rock types, and provide constraints on the use of anomaly data as a tool for mapping and for modeling geology at depth. Most of the density and magnetization data contained in this database were acquired over the last two decades as part of on-going activities. Paleozoic samples were collected from Iowa and included in the database because they provide a representative suite of data for rocks present, but not widely exposed in Minnesota. Additional...
Collection includes rock cuttings that are mostly washed and properly stored. Cuttings were derived from oil and gas wells.
This collection includes depth-to-water measurements for Kansas aquifers, primarily the High Plains aquifer. The groundwater level measurement data are available in the WIZARD Water Well Levels Database.
Collection of paper reports comprised mainly of IGS publications. A complete list of scanned publications can be found: https://www.iihr.uiowa.edu/igs/publications/search.

Collection consists of paper and electronic files of data from individual wells and springs that have been tested for water quality as part of an ongoing statewide assessment of ground-water quality. Data from the collection is documented in publications and annual administrative reports. Much of the data is in USGS WATSTORE database; some exists only in paper and spreadsheet format at Maryland Geological Survey.
Information on the paleomagnetic cores taken by Idaho Geological Survey geologists to help determine the age and/or affinity of various rock units, especially those related to the Columbia River Basalt Group and younger rocks. Data on paleomagnetic samples collected by Idaho Geological Survey geologists. At some point, this data set should be converted to digital format. matched with its location data, and published on the IGS's website.
The collection consists of (a) approximately 50 field notebooks from geologic mapping, including field maps showing outcrop locations corresponding to the field notes and in some cases draft copies of quadrangle geologic maps, (b) approximately 20 notebooks and associated sample location maps from the Chesapeake Bay Earth Science Study (CBESS), and (c) 1 notebook from the Hart-Miller Island Monitoring Study. Some notes are in pencil and may be difficult to read.
The collection consists of Excel files describing each aquifer test, containing raw data, plots, and calculations of hydraulic properties (Coastal Plain only) and list of references associated with the collection. 262 well locations currently have digital aquifer test data (345 well locations have hydraulic properties described in published report). Aquifer (pump) tests, Maryland Coastal Plain. 1.The collection is essential for the evaluation of the sustainability of ground water in the Maryland Coastal Plain, and it is used as criteria to determine the quantity of ground water in a ground water appropriation permit license. 2.The long-term goal is to incorporate pump tests from non-Coastal Plain provinces/Piedmont...
Beach profiles collected periodically, primarily along the Atlantic coast of Maryland, but also along Chesapeake Bay & tributary shorelines Beach Profiles, Coastal Maryland
Collection includes Piedmont rock cores and Outer Continental Shelf rock cores. This collection has not yet been inventoried and cataloged. Please contact the Delaware Geological Survey to inquire about this collection.
The Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology (MBMG) Mining Property File collection was amassed over the years through private and industry donations of engineering and geologic reports, pictures, correspondence, news clippings, and production information. The collection presently contains over 4,400 property-specific files (records). The physical files are organized first by Montana county and then by mine or project name. Files may contain information related to a particular mining claim, a collection of claims, or a mining exploration project. Metadata describing each record includes property name, location (county, historical mining district, township, range and section), georeferences (latitude and longitude), and...
Collection of reports containing from one to up to several hundred pages and water well files related to the MX Missile Project of the late 1970s and early 1980s. The collection is in 2 4-drawer filing cabinets. The geologic/hydrologic reports are kept at the NBMG, and some years ago, the cultural reports were sent to the Nevada Historical Society. The "Amount" is based on the number of reports and files listed on a typed index that may need revision. MX Files The area covered by the project is part of eastern and central Nevada. The collection is indexed by a typed list of reports and files in a binder, which needs to be reviewed against what is in the collection. The collection may be considered to become part...
