The Caribbean region is part of World Energy Assessment region 6 (Central and South America). A fundamental task in the assessment is to map the locations and type of production for existing oil and gas fields. The Petroconsultants database is the only available database that has coverage for the Caribbean region. Oil and gas field symbols represent field center-points and are published with permission from Petroconsultants International Data Corporation, 2002 database.

The USGS Central Region Energy Team assesses oil and gas resources of the United States. The onshore and State water areas of the United States comprise 71 provinces. Within these provinces, Total Petroleum Systems are defined and Assessment Units are defined and assessed. Each of these provinces is defined geologically, and most province boundaries are defined by major geologic changes. This data release contains information to support water quality modeling in the Delaware River Basin (DRB). These data support both process-based and machine learning approaches to water quality modeling, including the prediction of stream temperature. This section provides spatial data files that describe the rivers, reservoirs, and observational data in the Delaware River Basin included in this release. One shapefile of polylines describes the 459 river reaches that define the modeling network, and another shapefile of polygons includes the three reservoirs (Pepacton, Cannonsville, and Neversink) for which data are included in this release. This dataset includes a modified subset of polygon features that describe U.S. Geological Survey's defined geologic provinces of the World. Each province has a set of geologic characteristics that distinguish it from surrounding provinces. These characteristics may include dominant lithologies, the age of the strata, and/or structural type. Each province is assigned a unique numeric code and may fall within two or more countries or assessment regions.

South America is part of Region 6 (Central and South America) for the World Energy Assessment. South America was divided into 107 geologic provinces as background for prioritization and assessment of undiscovered oil and gas resources. The boundaries of geologic provinces are required for the assessment as oil and gas. Data must be allocated to a geographic entity so that decisions can be made as to which provinces are priority for the assessment. Many sources of geologic information were used to define the province boundaries in South America, and several versions of the map were reviewed. Of the 107 geologic provinces defined in South America, about 40 have had some oil and gas production to date.

This dataset provides site locations as shapefile points. The format is a shapefile for all sites combined (.shp, .shx, .dbf, and .prj files). This dataset is part of a larger data release of metabolism model inputs and outputs for 356 streams and rivers across the United States (https://doi.org/10.5066/F70864KX). The complete release includes: modeled estimates of gross primary productivity, ecosystem respiration, and the gas exchange coefficient; model input data and alternative input data; model fit and diagnostic information; site catchment boundaries and site point locations; and potential predictors of metabolism such as discharge and light availability.

The detrimental effects of excess nutrients and sediment entering the Chesapeake Bay estuary from its watersheds have necessitated regulatory actions. Federally-mandated reductions are apportioned to bay jurisdictions based on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Chesapeake Bay Time-Variable Watershed Model (CBPM). Scouring of streambed material surrounding bridge structures is a leading cause of bridge failure in the United States. Damages resulting from bridge failure oftentimes lead to financial burdens and loss of life. This data release provides the predictions from stream temperature models described in Chen et al. 2021. Briefly, various deep learning and process-guided deep learning models were built to test improved performance of stream temperature predictions below reservoirs in the Delaware River Basin. The US Fish and Wildlife Service has been petitioned to list the regal fritillary butterfly under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) with decision due in FY 2022. Population and species viability are directly related to genetic diversity, yet direct measures of genetic diversity are rare for any species, let alone a species of conservation concern. Previous research revealed regal fritillary populations show a reduction in genetic diversity from west to east, as potential habitat patches become smaller and more isolated.
