This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release (ver. 1.2, April 2022) contains a set of previously unpublished geochemical data from project studies of primitive areas in central Idaho, including the Clear Creek-Upper Big Deer Creek Area, the Salmon River Breaks and Sawtooth Primitive Areas, and the Gospel-Hump Wilderness Area. Conclusions: Prescribed burns did not supply the stream ecosystem with potentially important nutrient pulses that are often observed after wildfires. Prescribing higher severity burns to more closely mimic wildfires would enhance N cycling in productivity in N-limited headwater watersheds. In August 2024, the U.S. Geological Survey Idaho Water Science Center (USGS IDWSC), in cooperation with the United States Bureau of Reclamation (USBR), completed bathymetric and topographic surveys at Black Canyon Reservoir near Emmett, Idaho using a multibeam sonar and boat-mounted Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR).
