Bureau of Land management shape file depicting Oil and Gas lease Areas in Utah, USA This data set contains Oil and Gas Leases, derived from Legal Land Descriptions (LLD) contained in the US Bureau of Land Management's LR2000 Database, and geocoded (mapped) using the Public Land Survey System (PLSS)/Geographic Coordinate Data Base (GCDB) derived from the most accurate survey data available through BLM Cadastral Survey workforce, and the Premier Data Services CarteView Software.

This dataset represents the consolidated submissions for non-energy minerals and prospecting permit application data from BLM states responding to the WO 300 data call during the time period of November 2011 through May 2012. It is intended solely for use in the GRSG cumulative effects analysis. Source data, their acquisition methods and errors/omission rate vary. All original datasets used to create this dataset are stored in the BLM’s NOC E-GIS file structure. The paths to the original data are stored in this file’s attribute table. See the source data for detailed metadata and error analysis. Processing to develop this dataset: 1. Added a "Source" field to the attribute table of the original submission. 2. Populated...

Permits for pipelines may indicate future activities associated with oil and gas. With the spike in oil prices in the late 2000s there was increased interest in a natural gas pipeline from the North Slope to southern regions in Alaska and the contiguous 48 states. The pipeline permits have been obtained, but progress on the project has stalled with the plunge in oil prices and changes in political leanings of the state. The future of the pipeline is still very much up in the air, but alternatives to heating fuel are still very much desirable especially in the greater Fairbanks area.

Global trends in wetland degradation and loss have created an urgency to monitor wetland extent, as well as track the distribution and causes of wetland loss. Satellite imagery can be used to monitor wetlands over time, but few efforts have attempted to distinguish anthropogenic wetland loss from climate-driven variability in wetland extent. We present an approach to concurrently track land cover disturbance and inundation extent across the Mid-Atlantic region, United States, using the Landsat archive in Google Earth Engine. Disturbance was identified as a change in greenness, using a harmonic linear regression approach, or as a change in growing season brightness. Inundation extent was mapped using a modified version...

A temporary water use authorization may be needed if the amount of water to be used is a significantamount, the use continues for less than five consecutive years, and the water to be used is notappropriated. This authorization does not establish a water right but will avoid conflicts withfisheries and existing water right holders. This shape file characterizes the geographic representation of land parcels within the Stateof Alaska contained by the Temporary Water Use Permit - Surface category. It has been extractedfrom data sets used to produce the State status plats. This data set includes cases noted on thedigital status plats up to one day prior to data extraction. Each feature has an associated attribute record,...
This map service is used in MyWATERS Mapper to display the NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) permit status of facilities by state. Water pollution degrades surface waters making them unsafe for drinking, fishing, swimming, and other activities. As authorized by the Clean Water Act, the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit program controls water pollution by regulating point sources that discharge pollutants into waters of the United States. Point sources are discrete conveyances such as pipes or man-made ditches. Individual homes This map service is used in MyWATERS Mapper to display the NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) permit status...

Alaskan Offshore Mining Leases and Prospecting Permits for locatable or potential locatable minerals on state-owned tide and submerged lands are offered for issuance if the DNR conducts a Disposal of Interest for a specific offshore area. If known locatable mineral deposits exist, the DNR conducts a competitive offshore lease disposal, otherwise a noncompetitive offshore prospecting permit disposal is held. Leases are issued for variable terms, up to indefinite if activity is occurring, and offshore prospecting permits are issued for a term of 10 years as long as adequate prospecting work in done each year. Permit acreage may be converted to lease at any time during the 10 years if workable mineral deposits are...
