Volcanic neck east of La Abra de Los Cerros, view looking east. The country rock is Cretaceous shale. There is a vertical contact between the shale and the banded basaltic breccia that dips into the neck. Irregular masses of andesite or basalt with columnar jointing intrude the breccia.
