Continuous bedrock core from about 50 sites across CT. Stored in 1100 boxes. This collection has been rescued three times since its formation in the late 1980's. Formerly administrative responsibility was shared between the University of Connecticut Dept. of Geology and Geophysics (now disbanded) and the Dept. of Environmental Protection, Geological and Natural History Survey. The State Survey now houses the collection and is the sole administrator.
Collection of pamphlets, brochures, and informational booklets from the US Department of the Interior, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Indiana Department of Conservation, Indiana Geological Survey, Illinois Geological Survey, Kentucky Geological Survey, and more. Most are dated but have general information that could still be useful today.

Most projects conducted by the MWRA have attached to them a geotechnical report and accompanying environmental information. There are also eighteen marine drilling reports on work in the Boston Harbor, as well as, two hardbound copies on the Geology of the Waschusett Reservoir Area. All reports are stored in the library at the main facility in Chelsea; however, not all project managers turn over reports to the librarian for storage. Most projects conducted by the MWRA, related to the construction of water and sewer lines, have attached with them, a geotechnical report and accompanying environmental information. Coal reference system involving Illinois, Indiana, & Kentucky Geological Surveys and coordinated by Indiana University's School of Public and Invironmental Affairs (SPEA). The Indiana Geological Survey updated and compiled maps in the coal-producing part of Indiana to meet planner's needs including a summary of coal information useful for planning. Information provided included surface-mined areas, abandoned underground mines, and coal resource maps for the Seelyville, Springfield, and Danville coals.

The primary collection of field notebooks at the Indiana Geological Survey (IGS) are housed by subject in various location through the IGS. Most are filed by county and labeled with the study area. These are the field notes taken by IGS geologists in the field primarily between 1960 and 1985.
