Seventeen streamflow-gaging stations, operated by the U.S. Geological Survey and distributed across the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas and Oklahoma were selected for analysis. Bed material sampling was conducted to obtain information on the particle-size distributions of the streambed materials and to determine the shapes of the individual particles comprising the streambeds. Information on stream-bed particle-size distribution was used to compute the potential rate of bed-load transport and is a parameter used in the Rosgen (Rosgen, 1996) stream reach classification system. Streambed-material particle sizes were measured using two methods. The first method was Wolman pebble counts conducted across the riffles...

Seventeen streamflow-gaging stations, operated by the U.S. Geological Survey and distributed across the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas and Oklahoma were selected for analysis. Regional hydraulic geometry curves relating drainage area to bankfull dimensions: cross-sectional area, top width, mean depth, and discharge, were developed from data collected at the selected streamflow-gaging stations. Bed material sampling was conducted to obtain information on the particle-size distributions of the streambed materials and to determine the shapes of the individual particles comprising the streambeds. The stream reaches at each streamflow-gaging station were classified using the Rosgen level II stream type (Rosgen, 1996)...

This dataset contains elevation and pebble count data for 5 new sites located at streamflow-gaging stations in the glaciated setting of Pennsylvania and southern New York. Sites were surveyed in 2016 and the elevation data represent topographic features (bankfull, thalweg, etc.) along longitudinal and cross sectional areas of stream reaches. The pebble counts were collected within each cross section. Drainage areas from StreamStats for 70 streamflow-gaging stations in Pennsylvania are also provided.

Seventeen streamflow-gageing stations, operated by the U.S. Geological Survey and distributed across the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas and Oklahoma were selected for analysis. This child item includes a geographic information system polygon shapefile of the watersheds delineated above the study site locations. (OuachitaWatersheds)
