These data represent reproductive ecology characteristics for 4 species of mature female turtles captured at Elephant Butte Reservoir on the Rio Grande River in New Mexico, during two field survey periods in June 2012 and 2013. Data were collected on female reproductive ecology including clutch size, egg size, timing of egg production, and the percentage of reproductive females using X-radiography. The purpose of these data are to add to the deficient information on the reproductive ecology of four turtle species at the Elephant Butte Reservoir on the Rio Grande and Black River in New Mexico. Data contained in this worksheet were analyzed to determine clutch and egg sizes for four native species of turtles (Apalone...

These data are spatial polygon data and remote sensing image-based classification maps of surface water and vegetation species for 2012 along the Rio Grande River in Big Bend National Park in Texas. The geographic extent of the classification spans from the end of Mariscal Canyon to 5 km after the end of Boquillas Canyon, totaling approximately 77 Km of the river. The maps are also restricted to a digitized extent of riparian vegetation that is defined by the alluvial valley of the Rio Grande River. The 2012 classification maps are created using 20 cm multispectral (Near Infrared (NIR), Red and Green) imagery and LiDAR data collected in June 2012. The accuracy assessment for the classification product is based on...

These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. A digital representation of the watersheds of 43 sites on large river systems sampled by the National Stream Quality Accounting Network (NASQAN) of the U. S. Geological Survey (USGS) in 2000 was created primarily from 1:250,000 hydrologic units(HUCs) in the United States. Watershed information from Canada and Mexico was incorporated to complete the areas draining to the sampling sites from outside the United States. The sampled rivers...

This digital dataset represents the three-dimensional hydrogeologic framework for the Rio Grande Transboundary region of New Mexico, Texas, USA, and Northern Chihuahua, Mexico. The data define the elevation, thickness, extent, and character of the principal hydrostratigraphic units of the region, and faults and igneous intrusive dikes that cut these units. The digital data describe the following five hydrostratigraphic units: RC, river channel alluvium; three informal subdivisions of the Santa Fe Group (USF, Upper Santa Fe Group; MSF, Middle Santa Fe Group; LSF, Lower Santa Fe Group); and BSMT, which includes all pre-Santa Fe Group rocks (basement). All units except BSMT (RC, USF, MSF, LSF) are split into two subunits....
