Kasatochi is a small, isolated island volcano in the center of the Aleutian Island chain. It consists of a roughly circular cone approximately 3 km in diameter with a lake-filled central crater that is 1.2 km in diameter and extends from the highest point on the island to sea level. In this report, we evaluate potential tsunami hazards for southeastern Alaska communities of Elfin Cove, Gustavus, and Hoonah and numerically model the extent of inundation from tsunami waves generated by tectonic and landslide sources. We perform numerical modeling of historic tsunami events, such as the tsunami triggered by the 1964 Great Alaska Earthquake, and the tsunami waves generated by the recent 2011 Tohoku and 2012 Haida Gwaii earthquakes. The Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys (DGGS), in partnership with the U.S. National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program, mapped approximately 450 mi2 of the Talkeetna Mountains region of central Alaska at 1:50,000 scale over the course of six weeks in 2014. This area contains significant exposures of Late Triassic mafic volcanics and gabbro sills that have been the focus of region-wide exploration for the Strategic and Critical platinum-group elements (PGEs). This data release includes time-series data of rock temperature, air temperature, wind speed, and humidity at the Chalk Cliffs debris-flow monitoring site in central Colorado (Latitude: 38.73330, Longitude: -106.18704). The data were collected to help identify the environmental controls on rates of rockfall, which is the primary source of debris-flow material at the site. Data were recorded at 1-minute intervals between November 2011 and August 2015. Data collection was occasionally interrupted during maintenance periods or when there was a problem with the power supply. In this report, we evaluate potential tsunami hazards for the southeastern Alaska community of Juneau and numerically model the extent of inundation from tsunami waves generated by tectonic and submarine landslide sources. We calibrate our tsunami model by numerically simulating the 2011 Tohoku tsunami at Juneau and comparing our results to instrument records. Analysis of calculated and observed water level dynamics for the 2011 event in Juneau reveals that the model underestimates the observed wave heights in the city by a factor of two, likely due to complex tsunami-tide interactions. The data presented in this data release represent the records from a rain gage near Black Hollow, CO, a watershed that is tributary to the Cache La Poudre River. On 20 July 2021 a large rainstorm moved over the watershed and generated a large debris flow that destroyed several homes, resulting in four fatalities. The watershed had been burned prior to the rainstorm during the Cameron Peak wildfire (13 August – 2 December 2020). Here we present time-series data the Dry Creek rain gage, which captures the storm that triggered the Black Hollow debris flow. Latitude and Longitude data are included in the header. The purpose of this study is to evaluate potential tsunami hazards for the community of Whittier and western Passage Canal area. We numerically model the extent of inundation due to tsunami waves generated from earthquake and landslide sources. Tsunami scenarios include a repeat of the tsunami triggered by the 1964 Great Alaska Earthquake, as well as tsunami waves generated by a hypothetically extended 1964 rupture, a hypothetical Cascadia megathrust earthquake, hypothetical earthquakes in Prince William Sound, and Kodiak asperities of the 1964 rupture. This data release includes information used to support the manuscript "Rockfall kinematics from massive rock cliffs: outlier boulders and flyrock from Whitney Portal, California rockfalls". The included datasets and supplement include data that was collected and processed to investigate the kinematics of boulder trajectories and impacts to both other boulders and to existing trees on the talus slope beneath the source area cliffs.
