Mapping of terrestrial vertebrates focuses on linking a spatial representation of species-habitat matrices to geographic distribution. Each model is a combination of distribution from regional and state references in association with contiguous appropriate habitats. Ranges for all species were based on 8-digit HUCs. Habitats were based on a raster SWReGAP 1 acre MMU land cover data set, with hydrology habitats added in from USGS NHD dataset directly or through modeling. Habitat association information was obtained from various state, regional, and national references with updates from scientific literature. This portion of the Southwest Regional Gap Analysis Project produced predicted habitat distribution maps for...

This data was created by the CPW GIS Unit. Property boundaries are created by dissolving CDOWParcels by the property name, and property type and appending State Park boundaries designated as having public access. All parcel data correspond to legal transactions made by the CPW Real Estate Unit. The boundaries of the CDOW Parcels were digitized using metes and bounds, BLM's GCDB dataset, the PLSS dataset (where the GCDB dataset was unavailable) and using existing digital data on the boundaries.

This dataset was created using the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service’s (NRCS’s) SSURGO soil survey data and supplemented with STATSGO data in areas where SSURGO was not available. The dataset uses, in part, the soil data viewer extension for ArcMap to query for depth to any soil restrictive layer. Revised SSURGO map units provided by NRCS were used to update the map units near the Colorado-New Mexico border. The dataset is limited by availability of more detailed soils information from SSURGO, because this ecoregion contains areas not yet mapped by SSURGO.

PronghornWinterRange is an ESRI SDE Feature Class showing Pronghorn Winter Range, that part of the overall range where 90% of the individuals are located between the first heavy snowfall and spring green-up during the average five winters out of ten OR for a site specific period defined by Colorado Parks and Wildlife personnel for that Data Analysis Unit (DAU). This information was derived from field personnel. A variety of data capture techniques were used including drawing on mylar overlays at 1:50,000 scale USGS county mapsheets and implementation of the SmartBoard Interactive Whiteboard using stand-up, real-time digitizing at various scales (Cowardin, M., M. Flenner. March 2003. Maximizing Mapping Resources....

Shorebird - waterfowl assemblage conservation element. Created through the union of several hydrologic datasets and waterfowl distributions: NWI wetlands polygons, Riparian areas, Canada goose ranges, White pelican ranges, Stream centerlines (buffered by 250 m).This dataset presents current and future change agent models and combined future potential for change (PFC) within waterfowl/shorebird assemblage potentially suitable habitat. The waterfowl/shorebird asemblage potentially suitable habitat extent was determined through the union of several hydrologic datasets:NWI wetlands polygons, water bodies, riparian areas, Canada goose ranges (CPW), white pelican ranges (CPW), and stream centerlines (buffered by 250 m).This...

This dataset presents current and future change agent models and combined future potential for change (PFC) within ferruginous hawk potentially suitable habitat. The ferruginous hawk potentially suitable habitat extent was determined using the SWReGAP Vertebrate Habitat Distribution Model for the ferruginous hawk clipped to the study area for the SLV-TP Landscape Assessment. This dataset presents current and future change agent models and combined future potential for change (PFC). Potential for change (PFC) was determined by calculating the maximum potential for change among all change agents within each 1 km reporting unit. Current and future landscape intactness(LCM_C_FZ and LCM_N_FZ) are based on measures of...

This dataset presents current and future change agent models and combined future potential for change (PFC) within grassland fauna assemblage potentially suitable habitat. The grassland fauna assemblage potentially suitable habitat extent was determined by combining the SWReGAP Vertebrate Habitat Distribution Models for the burrowing owl, mountain plover, Gunnison's prairie dog, and swift fox and clipping to the study area for the SLV-TP Landscape Assessment. This dataset presents current and future change agent models and combined future potential for change (PFC). Potential for change (PFC) was determined by calculating the maximum potential for change among all change agents within each 1 km reporting unit. Current...

The TIGER/Line shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). The MTDB represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line shapefile is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. The All Roads Shapefile includes all features within the MTDB Super Class "Road/Path Features" distinguished where the MAF/TIGER Feature Classification Code (MTFCC) for the feature in MTDB that begins with "S". This includes...
