Sage-grouse habitat areas divided into proposed management categories within Nevada and California project study boundaries. HABITAT CATEGORY DETERMINATION The process for category determination was directed by the Nevada Sagebrush Ecosystem Technical team. Sage-grouse habitat was determined from a statewide resource selection function model and first categorized into 4 classes: high, moderate, low, and non-habitat. The standard deviations (SD) from a normal distribution of RSF values created from a set of validation points (10% of the entire telemetry dataset) were used to categorize habitat ‘quality’ classes. 1) High quality habitat comprised pixels with RSF values < 0.5 SD. 2) Moderate > 0.5 and < 1.0 SD. 3)...

A raster dataset representing the resilience and resistance classes combined with greater sage-grouse breeding habitat probabilities. It was created to represent greater sage-grouse breeding habitat probabilities within each resilience and resistance class. It was created to be incorporated into a larger landscape scale geospatial data modeling effort, the Conservation and Restoration Strategy. The R&R and the GRSG Breeding Habitat Probability raster were incorporated; the resulting raster contained 12 values: 26 - Unsuitable Probability and High R&R 27 - Unsuitable Probability and Moderate R&R 28 - Unsuitable Probability and Low R&R 51 - Low Probability and High R&R 52 - Low Probability and Moderate R&R 53...

A raster dataset representing the probability of the surrounding landscape (6.4km radius) supporting a greater sage-grouse lek. This dataset was made by mosaicking the probability of GRSG habitat layers (citation) and classifying them into unsuitable (0.01-0.25), low (0.25-0.50), moderate (0.50-0.65), and high (0.65-1.0) probabilities of the landscape supporting a lek. The publication date of this data is July 2016.

Emerging applications of ecosystem resilience and resistance concepts in sagebrush ecosystems allow managers to better predict and mitigate impacts of wildfire and invasive annual grasses. Soil temperature and moisture strongly influence the kind and amount of vegetation, and consequently, are closely tied to sagebrush ecosystem resilience and resistance (Chambers et al. 2014, 2016). Soil taxonomic temperature and moisture regimes can be used as indicators of resilience and resistance at landscape scales to depict environmental gradients in sagebrush ecosystems that range from cold/cool-moist sites to warm-dry sites. We aggregated soil survey spatial and tabular data to facilitate broad-scale analyses of resilience...
A raster dataset of the 30-year normal, annual precipitation values. To represent the amount of annual precipitation that falls within the western United States. It was created to be incorporated into a larger landscape scale geospatial data modeling effort, the Conservation and Restoration Strategy This data was published July 2016.

This dataset contains the fire perimeters in the western United States since 1984. It was made by combining MTBS and GeoMAC data. Fires greater than 1000 acres came from MTBS, while fires less than 1000 acres came from GeoMAC. This data was published July 2016.
