This dataset was created for the GRSG National Planning Effort from the 2008 BLM Land Health spreadsheet. Sherm Karl edited this spreadsheet to indicate those allotments in which a land health evaluation has not yet been done. These allotments were then ...

Habitat similarity index (HSI) values for greater sage-grouse across their western range. HSI values represent the relationship of environmental values at map locations to the multivariate model of minimum requirements for sage-grouse deļ¬ned by land cover, anthropogenic variables, soil, topography, and climate.

File-based data for download:https://www.sciencebase.gov/catalog/item/6556549dd34ee4b6e05c4822 This layer calculated changes between the first and last time steps from the Sagebrush Conservation Design dataset. Calculations were done by adding the first and second time step rasters using the Raster Calculator tool in ArcGIS Pro. The later raster was reclassified with the following values Non-Rangeland Areas = 0, Core Sagebrush Areas = 10, Growth Opportunity Areas = 20, Other Rangeland Areas = 30. This created a raster showing change with the following values. Non-Rangeland to Non-Rangeland = 0Core to Non-Rangeland =1, Growth to Non-Rangeland = 2,Other to Non-Rangeland = 3Non-Rangeland to Core = 10Core to Core =...

These data represent multispecies core areas for breeding habitats of greater sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus), Brewer’s sparrow (Spizella breweri), sagebrush sparrow (Artemisiospiza nevadensis), and sage thrasher (Oreoscoptes montanus). Core areas represent the smallest land base necessary to contain the resulting distributions across all species; for example, a 25% core area represents the minimum area containing at least 25% of the distributions for each of the four species. These models were developed using prioritzR (https://prioritizr.net/index.html) using minimum set algorithms and relative targets set equally across each of the four bird layers.

A raster dataset of the appropriate management levels of horses in BLM Herd Management Areas (HMAs) and USFS Wild Horse and Burro Territories (WHBT) within greater sage-grouse (GRSG) habitat probability classes within the GRSG management zones. This dataset was made by adding the GRSG Breeding Habitat Probability Raster to a raster of horse AML levels.

The LANDFIRE fuel data describe the composition and characteristics of both surface fuel and canopy fuel. Specific products include fire behavior fuel models, canopy bulk density (CBD), canopy base height (CBH), canopy cover (CC), canopy height (CH), and fuel loading models (FLMs). These data may be implemented within models to predict the behavior and effects of wildland fire. These data are useful for strategic fuel treatment prioritization and tactical assessment of fire behavior and effects. DATA SUMMARY: These fire behavior fuel models represent distinct distributions of fuel loadings found among surface fuel components (live and dead), size classes and fuel types. The fuel models are described by the most...

Accurate and consistent estimates of shrubland ecosystem components are crucial to a better understanding of ecosystems condition in arid and semiarid lands. We developed an innovative approach by integrating multiple information to quantify shrubland components as continuous field products within the National Land Cover Database (NLCD). The approach consists of five major parts: field sample collection, high-resolution mapping of shrubland components using WorldView-2 imagery and regression tree models, Landsat 8 radiometric balancing and phenological mosaicking, coarse resolution estimate of shrubland components across a large geographic extent using Landsat 8 phenological mosaics and regression tree models, and...

Broad-scale alterations of historical fire regimes and vegetation dynamics have occurred in many landscapes in the U.S. through the combined influence of land management practices, fire exclusion, ungulate herbivory, insect and disease outbreaks, climate change, and invasion of non-native plant species. The LANDFIRE Project produces maps of historical fire regimes and vegetation conditions using the disturbance dynamics model VDDT. The LANDFIRE Project also produces maps of current vegetation and measurements of current vegetation departure from simulated historical reference conditions. These maps support fire and landscape management planning outlined in the goals of the National Fire Plan, Federal Wildland Fire...
SurfaceManagementAgency: The Surface Management Agency (SMA) Geographic Information System (GIS) dataset depicts Federal land for the United States and classifies this land by its active Federal surface managing agency. The SMA feature class covers the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa and the Virgin Islands. A Federal SMA agency refers to a Federal agency with administrative jurisdiction over the surface of Federal lands. Jurisdiction over the land is defined when the land is either: Withdrawn by some administrative or legislative action, or Acquired or Exchanged by a Federal Agency. This layer is a dynamic assembly of spatial data layers maintained at various federal...

Reclassed areas of just sagebrush (1) and no sagebrush (0, areas with originally no sagebrush or recently burned areas). Landfire codes were: 2080, 2125, 2126, 2220, 2064, 2072, 2079, 2124) This layer is an intermediate layer used to create a sagebrush landscape cover layer using a moving window analysis. See Landfire metadata for an assessment of that data. See WFDSS, GEOMAC and MTBS fire metadata for more information on those data

The dataset contains a time series (2000-2013) of cheatgrass percent cover maps covering the western and central areas of the northern Great Basin. The original time series (2000 to 2010) has been extended to include years 2011, 2012, and 2013. The additional maps were built by applying satellite data from their respective years to model parameters developed from the 2000 to 2010 model
