Bathymetric change grids covering the periods of time from 1934 to 2011, from 2011 to 2018, and from 1934 to 2018 are presented. The grids cover a portion of the Mokelumne River, California, starting at its terminus at the San Joaquin River and moving upriver to the confluences of the north and south branches of the Mokelumne. Positive grid values indicate accretion, or a shallowing of the surface bathymetric surface, and negative grid values indicate erosion, or a deepening of the bathymetric surface. Bathymetry data sources include the U.S. Geological Survey, California Department of Water Resources, and NOAA's National Ocean Service.

Bathymetric change grids covering the periods of time from 1992 to 1998 and from 1994 to 2004 are presented. The grids cover a portion of the Sacramento River near Rio Vista, California, extending partially upstream on Cache and Steamboat sloughs by the Ryer Island Ferry, as well as continuing up the Sacramento River towards Isleton. Positive grid values indicate accretion, or a shallowing of the surface bathymetric surface, and negative grid values indicate erosion, or a deepening of the bathymetric surface. Bathymetry data sources include the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, California Department of Water Resources, and NOAAs National Ocean Service.

Two tributary watersheds¬ Cottonwood Creek and Little Dry Creek¬ to the greater San Joaquin watershed, in California’s Central Valley were assessed for sediment and flow dynamics, between water years (Oct. 1 to Sept. 30) 2011 and 2019. The two systems deliver suspended sediment to the San Joaquin River below Friant Dam, California. Because these two creeks are directly down river of Friant Dam, they become the most upstream source of sediment to the San Joaquin River below Friant Dam. Thus, is it important to assess their contribution to the San Joaquin system. Flow from each creek watershed, along with the San Joaquin River, was compared to continuously measured water surface elevations to quantify flow direction...

This data set contains information on zooplankton and associated environmental parameters for sampling conducted in the San Joaquin River and False River near their confluence at Jersey Point (Contra Costa County, California), during February-March, 2016. Macrozooplankton were sampled with vertical tows (bottom to surface) of a 50 cm-diameter conical plankton net that was 150cm long with 102µm mesh. Samples were preserved in the field in 10% formalin for laboratory processing that was conducted by a contractor (EcoAnalysts, Inc). This portion of the USGS data release presents topography data acquired in the Liberty Island Conservation Wildlands restoration site in 2017 (USGS Field Activity Number 2017-649-FA). Topographic data were collected on June 26 and 27, 2017 by walking with global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receivers mounted on backpacks. Hand-held data collectors were used to log raw data and display navigational information as the surveyors traversed the landscape. The final point data are provided in a comma-separated text file and are projected in cartesian coordinates using the Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) Zone 10 North, meters coordinate system.

A high-resolution (10-meter per pixel) digital elevation model (DEM) was created for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta using both bathymetry and topography data relative to current modern datum of North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88). This DEM is the result of collaborative efforts of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and the California Department of Water Resources (DWR). The base of the DEM is from a 10-m DEM released in 2004 and updated in 2005 (Foxgrover and others, 2005) that used Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI), ArcGIS Topo to Raster module to interpolate grids from single beam bathymetric surveys collected by DWR, the Army Corp of Engineers (COE), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric...

This portion of the data release presents the locations of the temporary ground control points (GCPs) used for the structure-from-motion (SfM) processing of the imagery collected during the Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) survey on of the Liberty Island Conservation Bank Wildlands restoration site in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta on 2018-10-23. The GCPs were used to establish ground control for the survey and consisted of 24 small (80 x 80 centimeter) square tarps with black-and-white cross patterns placed on the ground surface throughout the mapping area during the survey. The GCP positions were measured using RTK GPS, with corrections from a GPS base station located approximately 3 kilometers south of the study...

This portion of the USGS data release presents single beam bathymetry data collected during surveys performed in the Cache Slough Complex, Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, California in 2017 and 2018 (USGS Field Activity Numbers 2017-649-FA and 2018-684-FA). Bathymetry data were collected using personal watercraft (PWCs) equipped with single-beam sonar systems and global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receivers. The final point data from the PWCs are provided in a comma-separated text file and are projected in cartesian coordinates using the Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) Zone 10 North, meters coordinate system.

This data release documents the spatial and temporal variability of nutrients and related water quality parameters at high spatial resolution in the western and central portion of the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta of California, USA. The data set includes water residence time, nitrate, ammonium, phosphate, dissolved organic carbon, temperature, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, and chlorophyll. Data collection were conducted over six days between August 2015 - July 2016 to document conditions prior to, during, and following the installation of a rock barrier on False Barrier to limit salt intrusion.

This data release includes data containing projections of unimpaired hydrology, reservoir storage, and downstream managed flows in the Sacramento River/San Joaquin River watershed under scenarios of future climate change generated for the CASCaDE2 project (Computational Assessments of Scenarios of Change for the Delta Ecosystem, phase 2). Code used to produce the data is also included. The dataset is produced using a multiple-model approach. First, downscaled global climate model outputs are used to drive an existing Variable Infiltration Capacity/Variable Infiltration Capacity Routing (VIC/RVIC) model of Sacramento/San Joaquin hydrology, resulting in projections of daily, unimpaired flows throughout the watershed....

This dataset includes field data for fishes sampled using mid-water trawls and the SmeltCam during daylight hours in the Sacramento- San Joaquin Delta, California. Sampling took place between February 8, 2016 and March 1, 2016. This data release includes all measured environmental parameters and fish taxa collected during sampling event.
