From 2010 through 2019, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, collected horizontal-to-vertical seismic soundings at 100 locations in upstate New York and 1 location in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania to evaluate the technique (control-point measurements) and to support aquifer-mapping projects (Heisig, 2012, 2015).
