The purpose of this theme is to allow the user to perform multiple theme queries. This theme was created specifically for the National Coal Resource Assessment in the Northern Rocky Mountains and Great Plains Region.
Sheridan County's Interactive Internet Mapping is now available. Make sure your internet browsers pop up blocker is disabled on the launch page. Be sure to check out the tutorial that can be accessed from the launch page of the site. It only takes 15 to 20 minutes and is highly recommended prior to using the site in order to utilize the site at it's full capability.
The USGS and SEO Streamflow Gage Locations dataset with locations where ungaged natural flow estimates were taken contains the latitude-longitude locations for selected gages within the Powder/Tongue River Basin Planning Area. This dataset contains the locations only for those USGS and SEO gages that were used in the Powder/Tongue River Basin Plan to model available flow. The locations where natural flow was estimated for purposes of modeling available flow are also included.

Shallow subsurface electrical conductivity was mapped at Hansen National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) in northeast Montana using the DUALEM421 electromagnetic sensor (Dualem, Inc., ON, Canada) in the winter of 2017. Data were acquired by towing the DUALEM421 sensor on a sled behind an all-terrain vehicle or snow machine, with the sensor at a nominal height of 0.3 meters (m) above ground surface. Approximately 10 line-kilometers (km) of data were acquired over an area of approximately .2 square-kilometers. This dataset contains the 14 major reservoirs in the Powder/Tongue River Basin Planning Area. All surface water storage in structures containing more than 50 acre-feet of storage or more than 20 feet high (meeting the minimum standards for inclusion in the Dam Safety database) were initially selected. These selection criteria produced a set of 189 surface water storage facilities. The State Engineer's Office Water Division Two commissioners agreed that a further set of criteria should be introduced to provide a list from which the dams of particular significance to the basin could be developed. Natural subirrigated fields were not delineated unless some benefit was being received from a man made system.
