Data were collected aboard the Alaska Department of Fish and Game R/V Medeia, and recorded using a 32 channel GeoEel digital streamer, an Applied Acoustics power supply, and a SIG SLP 790 Sparker Electrode. MCS profiles were collected coincident with multibeam data collected at higher survey speeds (5-6 knots), which reduced the MCS data quality. Structure perpendicular MCS profiles were collected along the Queen Charlotte-Fairweather fault. The data were collected aboard the R/V Norseman using a Delta sparker sound source and recorded on a 64-channel digital streamer. Subbottom acoustic penetration spans up to several hundreds of meters, and is variable by location. On August 18, 2015, heavy rainfall triggered around 60 landslides in and around Sitka. These landslides moved downslope rapidly; several were damaging, and one demolished a home on South Kramer Avenue and killed three people. On September 16-18, 2019, the U.S. Geological Survey installed instrumentation at a site near the initiation zones of these landslides and other previous landslides on the west face of Harbor Mountain.
