These data are bathymetry (river bottom elevation) in XYZ format, generated from the March 29-30, 2017 and April 13, 2017, bathymetric survey of the East Fork White River at Columbus, Indiana. The bathymetry was collected from approximately the confluence of Driftwood and Flatrock rivers, downstream to the confluence of Haw Creek. In 2021, the USGS 3D Elevation Program (3DEP) funded the collection of topo-bathymetric lidar (sometimes referred to as "green lidar") on the McKenzie River, Oregon. Field-based multibeam sonar surveys were collected along the Colorado River, near Lees Ferry, Arizona from a motorized cataraft. These data were used to assess the accuracy of river bathymetry inferred from the ASTRALiTe bathymetric lidar, acquired contemporaneously from the same survey vessel. These data sets were collected to support research focused on developing innovative methods for non-contact measurement of river discharge based on various forms of remotely sensed data.
