This is a child item of the USGS Data Release: https://doi.org/10.5066/F7K072DR This dataset includes zooplankton biomass from Prince William Sound, Icy Bay and Yakutat Bay, Alaska. Zooplankton were sampled with a ring net (0.6 m diameter with 211 µ mesh) on a 50 m vertical haul or to within 5 m of the bottom in shallow water. Zooplankton samples were identified to species and life stage when possible.
This dataset contains stream-stage data for Santa Cruz River at Tumacácori Downstream Site (SC11). The pressure transducer was mounted to a metal post secured in the stream near the left bank. The data were recorded using non-vented Solinst Levelogger for the period of June 16, 2016 to June 24, 2016. The data were logged continuously at a 15-minute interval and manually downloaded. Data were then corrected with the atmospheric pressure collected from a Solinst Barologger located at SC14. The data was processed and analyzed for erroneous data.

Two identical Radar Stage Sensors from Forest Technology Systems, were evaluated to determine if they are suitable for U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) hydrologic data collection. The sensors were evaluated in laboratory conditions to evaluate the distance accuracy of the sensor over the manufacturer’s specified operating temperatures and distance to water ranges. Laboratory results were compared to the manufacturer’s accuracy specification of ±0.007 foot (ft) and the USGS Office of Surface Water (OSW) policy requirement that water level sensors have a measurement uncertainty of no more than 0.01 ft or 0.20 percent of the indicated reading. In the temperature chamber test, both sensors were within the manufacturer’s...

This data release (DR) is the update of the U.S. Geological Survey - ScienceBase data release Bera (2023), with the processed data for the period October 1, 2021, through September 30, 2022. This data release describes the watershed data management (WDM) database SC22.WDM. The precipitation data are collected from a tipping-bucket rain-gage network and the hydrologic data (stage and discharge) are collected at USGS streamflow-gaging stations in and around Salt Creek watershed in DuPage County, Illinois, as described in Bera (2014). Hourly precipitation and hydrologic data for the period October 1, 2021, through September 30, 2022, are processed following the guidelines described in Bera (2014) and Murphy and Ishii...

This dataset contains E. coli data collected at the Outfall of the Nogales International Wastewater Treatment Plant (NIWTP; SC6, 312724110580501) by U.S. International Boundary and Water Commission (IBWC) personnel. The IBWC collects discrete samples at the Outfall of the NIWTP daily or weekly by dipping a 100 mL sterilized IDEXX bottle in the centroid of flow. Samples are kept chilled and shipped to Turner Laboratories Inc. or Legend Technical Services Inc. Both laboratories use standard method 9223B for E. coli analysis, which uses the Colilert™-24 (Colilert) and Quanti-Tray®/2000 (Quanti-Tray) system. The holding time specified for wastewater is 30 hours. The dataset is a compilation of multiple paper records....

Watershed Data Management (WDM) database file WBDR19.WDM is updated with the quality-assured and quality-controlled meteorological and hydrologic data for the period October 1, 2019, through September 30, 2020, following the guidelines documented in Bera (2017) and is renamed as WBDR20.WDM. Meteorological data other than precipitation (wind speed, solar radiation, air temperature, dewpoint temperature, and potential evapotranspiration) were copied from ARGN20.WDM and stored in this WDM file. Errors have been found in each of ARGNXX.WDM prior to Water Year (WY) 2023. XX represents last two digits of a WY. A WY is the 12-month period, October 1 through September 30, in which it ends. WBDR20.WDM contains erroneous...
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and the West Virginia Water Gaging Council have proposed an expansion to the existing West Virginia streamgage network. As of December 18, 2018, the USGS operates a network of 149 real-time streamgages in West Virginia. This geospatial dataset provides the approximate locations of 39 proposed streamgages. These streamgages include 31 presently operated by the West Virginia Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management and 8 new streamgages. These streamgages may be relocated depending on access and stream conditions, and data users who need precise locations of these streamgages may contact the USGS office in Charleston, West Virginia.

The Tenaya Lake Water Budget Study seeks to quantify and understand the water balance within the principal snow accumulation and runoff yielding zone in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The Study operates stage sensors and data loggers to record Tenaya Lake inflows, water surface elevation, and outflow, with continuous annual data collection for the 21 square-kilometer watershed located in the alpine zone of Yosemite National Park. The Study began in September 2005 and includes discharge and water quality measurements. Water samples have been collected at several gage locations and analyzed for an extensive panel of dissolved constituents. Tenaya Lake lies in a glacially-scoured granitic basin. Murphy Creek, Tenaya...

This dataset contains barometric pressure collected at the Santa Cruz River at Tubac, Arizona (SC14, 09481740). The data were recorded using a Solinst 3001 Barologger for the period of February 12, 2015 to December 31, 2016. The data were logged continuously at a 15-minute interval and manually downloaded. Non-vented pressure transducers do not correct for atmospheric pressure, therefore, stream-stage data were corrected for atmospheric pressure using the barometric pressure collected at this SC14. The barologger was stored in the gage house at SC14.
