This data release includes stormwater inflow, outflow, and subsurface storage data for two bioretention gardens located in Omaha, Nebraska. Additionally, two additional datasets are included which contain meteorology and evapotranspiration data for each site. These sites were located at the Douglas County Health Center (DCHC), and the Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging (ENOA).

The data set contains phosphorus and nitrogen concentrations and loads measured as part of a study to determine if, and by how much, removing leaves and other organic detritus from streets, through municipal leaf collection and street cleaning programs, could reduce nutrient contributions to local water bodies. Stormwater runoff was sampled in paired, medium-density, residential catchments during the fall. One catchment was established as a control in which there was no effort to remove leaf litter and other organic detritus from streets. The second catchment served as the test catchment in which removal of leaf litter was done through a combination of municipal leaf collection and street cleaning on a weekly or...

This dataset characterizes water quality and quantity data from 33 storm events at the influent and effluent of a stormwater treatment vault modified with a Coanda-effect screen in Madison, Wisconsin (2016-17). Event dates, event duration, precipitation depth, 15-minute intensity, 30-minute intensity, 60-minute intensity, event volume, and peak discharge are shown with corresponding influent and effluent concentrations and loads as well as percent reductions and load reductions of total suspended solids (TSS), volatile suspended solids (VSS), suspended sediment concentration (SSC), total phosphorus (TP), and dissolved phosphorus (DP). Data are interpreted in a scientific paper published in the Journal of Sustainable...

PROBLEM Alley Creek, a tributary to Little Neck Bay (Queens County, New York; figure 1) has been designated as impaired by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) for primary and secondary contact and included on the 303(d) Impaired Waterways for pathogens related to combined sewer overflow contributions. The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) and New York City Parks & Recreation have developed a long-term control plan (2014) and a watershed management plan (2015), respectively, to improve water quality and ecosystem health. Point and non-point sources of pathogens are implicated, including stormwater and combined-sewer outfalls, groundwater seepage, and...

Following Hurricane Sandy, the USGS began construction of an overland Surge, Wave, and Tide Hydrodynamics (SWaTH) Network along the Northeastern Atlantic Coast from North Carolina to Maine. This network, developed collaboratively with numerous partners, features the integration of long-term tide gage networks, with real-time rapid-deployment gages (RDG) and mobile storm-tide sensors (STS). An element of the comprehensive strategy of SWaTH ensures that locations for most RDGs and STSs have been presurveyed to the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88) and equipped with receiving brackets. This permits rapid deployment and recovery of instrumentation and data dissemination in the hours and days immediately...
