This folder contains data in three parts. The juvenile coho salmon abundance and survival data consists of fish survey data and the associated analysis, including documentation of the analysis code, methods, and protocols used. Habitat survey data consists of both reach-level (~100 meter sections) and continuous (watershed scale) surveys. The summaries item and its contents include summaries produced from fish and habitat surveys conducted in Mason Creek, tributary of the East Fork Lewis River, SW Washington, during summer of 2017.

The protocol for the habitat surveys are outlined in the file entitled "Fish Rescue Field Protocol_2017_FINAL VERSION_2017-06-01.pdf". The habitat dataset is stored in an Access database entitled "FishRescue_HabitatData_2017.accdb" and consists of both reach-level (~100 meter sections) and continuous (watershed scale) surveys.

Stream habitat characteristics, energy development metrics, and fish catch per unit effort data for 91 sites (100m stream reach) sampled in the summers of 2012 and 2013.We sampled four streams in the Dry Piney Drainage (Dry Piney, Beaver Dam, Black Canyon, and North Black Canyon), five in the Fogarty Drainage (North and South Fogarty, North and South Pine Grove, and Sawmill) and four in the South Beaver Drainage (North Beaver, South Beaver, Middle Beaver, and Spring).

The spreadsheets associated with this metadata file represent: (Tab 1) Streamflow and drainage basin characteristics of selected gaged steams in Hawaii used to develop statistical models to estimate surface-water availability during low flow conditions and for varying rainfall conditions. For gaged streams on Maui, two sets of projected rainfall conditions for the late 21st century and associated estimates of changes in low flows and usable habitat for native stream fauna are also provided. (Tab 2) Drainage basin characteristics of ungaged streams on Maui used to apply the statistical models, two sets of projected rainfall conditions for the late 21st century, and associated estimates of changes in low flows and...

The United States Geological Survey Virginia and West Virginia Water Science Center (USGS VA-WV-WSC) and Fairfax County assembled this data release in support of ongoing USGS VA-WV-WSC monitoring and evaluations of stream conditions overtime of two previously restored, urban-suburban streams in Reston, Virginia – Snakeden Branch and The Glade. The aquatic benthic macroinvertebrate, fish, and habitat sampling and surveying were conducted on the same eight, 100-meter stream reaches (four reaches in Snakeden Branch and four reaches in The Glade) by the USGS VA-WV-WSC. Aquatic benthic macroinvertebrate sampling and physical habitat surveys were conducted in both Spring and Fall of 2021 and a fish survey was conducted...

Human impacts occurring throughout the DOI Northeast Climate Science Center, including urbanization, agriculture, and dams, have multiple effects on streams in the region which support economically valuable stream fishes. Changes in climate are expected to lead to additional impacts in stream habitats and fish assemblages in multiple ways, including changing stream water temperatures. To manage streams for current impacts and future changes, managers need region-wide information for decision-making and developing proactive management strategies. Our project met that need by integrating results of a current condition assessment of stream habitats based on fish response to human land use, water quality impairment,...

The Yellowcheek darter (YCD), Nothonotus moorei (Robison and Buchanan 2020), is endemic to the headwater tributaries (a.k.a. ‘forks’) of Little Red River system (South Fork, SF; Middle Fork, MF; Archey Fork, AF; and Beech Fork, BF) in north central Arkansas. Large portions of critical stream habitat in each stream fork were inundated in 1964 with the construction of Greers Ferry Dam, and the YCD is now restricted to relatively short, free-flowing stretches of each fork upstream of the dam. YCD were once reported as the most abundant riffle species in these headwater tributaries (Robison and Harp 1981), however, multiple status surveys and collection efforts in the decades since dam construction have documented a...

This folder and its contents include summaries produced from fish and habitat surveys conducted in Mason Creek, tributary of the East Fork Lewis River, SW Washington, during summer of 2017. First, estimates of abundance and survival for juvenile coho salmon were generated for three time periods (early, middle, and late) during the summer of 2017 and reported in the file "Estimates of juvenile coho summer abundance and survival_MasonCreek_2017.xlsx". Second, summaries of the continuous habitat surveys can be found in the file "FinalStats_MasonMill2017_FishRescue.xlsx". Specifically here, the total length of stream habitat by habitat type (flowing, fragmented, dry) and the frequency and area of stream pools are summarized...
