Typed information accompanying slide: Five camp members decided to hike across the ice island to the high spot which could be seen from camp. The day wa sunny when they started on the two to three mile walk. Everyone wore hip boots. Small lakes dotted the path. June 1969. Similar to C-29, C-31, C-35. Typed information accompanying slides: Wreckage of abandoned huts, empty diesel drums, garbage, everything emerged out of the snow by the end of June. Typed information accompanying negative: The landscape and hydrohut in July. By mid July the weather was starting to grow colder. The snow had melted and the lakes were drying up. Note: T-3 Photographs - Roll G B&W negatives – July 4,1969 This roll of photographs was mostly taken on July 4, 1969. There was a camp get together and celebration that day. There was no alcohol on T-3 at that point. Bob Sutton chose an abandoned hut to burn and that event was the high point of the day. (Photos on Roll G taken by Dave Scoboria)

Typed information accompanying negatives: Bob Sutton was the camp manager during the summer of 1969. He was soft spoken, experienced, and very capable. In mid-summer he developed an abscessed tooth and suffered for several days before it was controlled with penicillin from the medical supplies. There were no medical personnel on T-3, so if a medical problem developed it was handled over the radio. There were days when the radio communication was poor or non-existent. Typed information accompanying negatives: Graham Law was one of the two employees on T-3 working for Lamont in the summer of 1969. I believe that he was a student at Columiba University. We flew to T-3 on one of the NARL DC-3s on June 1, 1969. We had never met before, but in an odd coincidence we had once dated sisters when we were in high school. Typed information accompanying slide: Returning to camp. Bob Sutton, camp leader, had loaned us the camp weasel to cross the island to retrieve the gear. Typed information accompanying negative: Hauling a load back to camp: Bob Sutton driving the cat, the crew sits on top of the crates. There is a congenial spirit of cooperation at these camp activities. A small amount of beer was included among the supplies which lasted a few days, otherwise the camp was dry that summer. It was a year later that homemade raisin wine led to the events in whicdh Bennie Lightsy, the camp manager was shot and killed.
