geodata.gov is a geographic information system (GIS) portal, also known as the Geospatial One-Stop, that serves as a public gateway for improving access to geospatial information and data under the Geospatial One-Stop e-government initiative. Geospatial One-Stop is one of 24 e-government initiatives sponsored by the Federal Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to enhance government efficiency and to improve citizen services. Geospatial One-Stop makes it easier, faster, and less expensive for all levels of government and the public to access geospatial information. The portal is a catalog of geospatial information containing thousands of metadata records (information about the data) and links to live maps, features,...

The importance of monitoring shrublands to detect and understand changes through time is increasingly recognized as critical to management. This dataset focuses on ecological change observation over ten years of field observation at 134 plots within two sites that are located in Southwestern of Wyoming, USA from 2008-2018. At sites 1 and 3, 134 long-term field observation plots were measured annually from 2008 to 2018. General plot locations were selected in 2006 using segments and spectral clusters on QuickBird imagery to identify the best locations for representing the variability of the entire site (one QuickBird image). Ground measurements were conducted using ocular measurements with cover was estimated from...

Using predicted lake temperatures from uncalibrated, process-based models (PB0) and process-guided deep learning models (PGDL), this dataset summarized a collection of thermal metrics to characterize lake temperature impacts on fish habitat for 881 lakes. Included in the metrics are daily thermal optical habitat areas and a set of over 172 annual thermal metrics.
This dataset provides shapefile outlines of the 7,150 lakes that had temperature modeled as part of this study. The format is a shapefile for all lakes combined (.shp, .shx, .dbf, and .prj files). A csv file of lake metadata is also included. This dataset is part of a larger data release of lake temperature model inputs and outputs for 7,150 lakes in the U.S. states of Minnesota and Wisconsin (http://dx.doi.org/10.5066/P9CA6XP8).
What are current conditions for important park natural resources? What are the critical data and knowledge gaps? What are some of the factors that are influencing park resource conditions? Natural Resource Condition Assessments (NRCAs) evaluate and report on the above for a subset of important natural resources in national park units (hereafter, parks). Focal study resources and indicators are selected on a park-by-park basis, guided by use of structured resource assessment and reporting frameworks. Considerations include park resource setting and enabling legislation (what are this park's most important natural resources?) and presently available data and expertise (what can be evaluated at this time?). In addition...

The Caribbean region is part of World Energy Assessment region 6 (Central and South America). A fundamental task in the assessment is to map the locations and type of production for existing oil and gas fields. The Petroconsultants database is the only available database that has coverage for the Caribbean region. Oil and gas field symbols represent field center-points and are published with permission from Petroconsultants International Data Corporation, 2002 database.

LiDAR data is remotely sensed high-resolution elevation data collected by an airborne collection platform. Using a combination of laser rangefinding, GPS positioning and inertial measurement technologies; LiDAR instruments are able to make highly detailed Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) of the earth's terrain, man-made structures and vegetation.

Daily lake surface temperatures estimates for 185,549 lakes across the contiguous United States from 1980 to 2020 generated using an entity-aware long short-term memory deep learning model. In-situ measurements used for model training and evaluation are from 12,227 lakes and are included as well as daily meteorological conditions and lake properties. Median per-lake estimated error found through cross validation on lakes with in-situ surface temperature observations was 1.24 °C. The generated dataset will be beneficial for a wide range of applications including estimations of thermal habitats and the impacts of climate change on inland lakes.

This data release contains information to support water quality modeling in the Delaware River Basin (DRB). These data support both process-based and machine learning approaches to water quality modeling, including the prediction of stream temperature. This section contains observations related to the amount and quality of water in the Delaware River Basin. Data from a subset of reservoirs in the basin include observed daily depth-resolved water temperature, water levels, diversions, and releases. Data from streams in the basin include daily flow and temperature observations. Observations were compiled from a variety of sources, including the National Water Inventory System, Water Quality Portal, EcoSHEDS stream...

The Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD) from The National Map (TNM) defines the perimeter of drainage areas formed by the terrain and other landscape characteristics. The drainage areas are nested within each other so that a large drainage area, such as the Upper Mississippi River, will be composed of multiple smaller drainage areas, such as the Wisconsin River. Each of these smaller areas can further be subdivided into smaller and smaller drainage areas. The WBD uses six different levels in this hierarchy, with the smallest averaging about 30,000 acres. The WBD is made up of polygons nested into six levels of data respectively defined by Regions, Subregions, Basins, Subbasins, Watersheds, and Subwatersheds. For additional...

The LANDFIRE fuel data describe the composition and characteristics of both surface fuel and canopy fuel. Specific products include fire behavior fuel models, canopy bulk density (CBD), canopy base height (CBH), canopy cover (CC), canopy height (CH), and fuel loading models (FLMs). These data may be implemented within models to predict the behavior and effects of wildland fire. These data are useful for strategic fuel treatment prioritization and tactical assessment of fire behavior and effects. DATA SUMMARY: Canopy base height (CBH) describes the lowest point in a stand where there is sufficient available fuel (= .25 in dia.) to propagate fire vertically through the canopy. Specifically, CBH is defined as the lowest...

North American sagebrush-steppe ecosystems have decreased by about 50 percent since European settlement. As a result, sagebrush-steppe dependent species, such as the Gunnison sage-grouse, have experienced drastic range contractions and population declines. Coordinated ecosystem-wide research, integrated with monitoring and management activities, is needed to help maintain existing sagebrush habitats; however, products that accurately model and map sagebrush habitats in detail over the Gunnison Basin in Colorado are still unavailable. This research employs a combination of methods, including (1) modeling sagebrush rangeland as a series of independent objective components that can be combined and customized by any...

This data represents grazing allotment boundaries managed by the BLM. Allotments are permitted use areas for public grazing of cattle, sheep and horses. Allotments can be a mixture of different surface ownerships, for example a BLM allotment can encompass privately owned land or state land Allotments can also be leased to various types of livestock, cattle, sheep and/or horses.
This dataset summarized a collection of annual thermal metrics to characterize lake temperature impacts on fish habitat for 7,150 lakes from uncalibrated models (PB0) and 449 from calibrated models (PBALL). The dataset includes over 172 annual thermal metrics.

This dataset provides model specifications used to estimate water temperature from a process-based model (Hipsey et al. 2019). The format is a single JSON file indexed for each lake based on the "site_id". This dataset is part of a larger data release of lake temperature model inputs and outputs for 68 lakes in the U.S. states of Minnesota and Wisconsin (http://dx.doi.org/10.5066/P9AQPIVD).
