Syncline 1 mile southwest of Carter Oil spring, prominent white sandstone is Oyster Ridge sandstone. Vegetation is largely sage, with occasional haw bushes, and with exceptional clump of aspen in the head of the hollow in the right foreground. Uinta County, Wyoming. 1905. Miller on 05/05/2007, "Jackson did not stop in Wyoming (except for Cheyenne) during his 1869 travels with Arundel Hull, nor did he stop in 1870 as he returned from the first Hayden Expedition. The photo is probably an 1869 'Jackson photograph' actually taken by Arundel Hull."
