A total of 27 temperature sensors were deployed along the lower 90 miles of the Yakima River at 7 locations where cold water had been previously observed. These 7 cold-water areas had 3 to 6 temperature sensors installed to document the extent and duration of these cold-water areas and their impacts on mainstem temperatures of the Lower Yakima River. Cold-water areas included the mouths of tributaries, alongside channels, and within alcoves. Sensor deployments ranged from 1 to 2 years beginning in October 2018. North American freshwater mussels are in serious decline as a result of pollution and habitat destruction from human activities. In addition, many mussel species are living in habitats that push the upper limits of their heat tolerance, which may become problematic as the climate and, as a result, water temperatures warm. As part of this project, we created a set of models to predict how freshwater mussels would respond to climate change effects. The characteristics, discharge, and water quality of springs and seeps, at the Fort Irwin National Training Center (NTC) were evaluated during 2015 and 2016. Geophysical, hydrological, and water-quality data were used to help characterize and document a baseline of current (2016) hydrologic conditions and water quality of springs and seeps located on the NTC. Hydrologic methods used in this study included discrete discharge measurements to evaluate surface flow from the springs, and temperature measurements to trace groundwater movement beneath the springs. This data release contains discharge measurements and temperature data at four springs: Garlic, Bitter, Jack Spring East, and Jack Spring West.

This data set contains continuous water-surface elevation and water-quality (temperature, specific conductance, salinity, and turbidity) data recorded at 6- and 15-minute intervals, respectively, from two sites in the Bronx on the Harlem River -- Roberto Clemente State Park and Mill Pond Park. Fish catch and effort data for three species caught in gill nets and trap nets between 1988 and 2019 as part of Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MNDNR) fisheries surveys conducted during the summer and early fall are included from over 1,300 Minnesota lakes. The three fish species included are: bluegill (Lepomis marochirus) a warm-water adapted species, yellow perch (Perca flavescens) a cool-water adapted species, and cisco (Coregonus artedi) a cold-water adapted species.
