The U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Harris‐Galveston Subsidence District, City of Houston, Fort Bend Subsidence District, Brazoria County Groundwater Conservation District, and Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District, has produced this dataset of water-level changes and approximate water-level altitudes in the Chicot, Evangeline, and Jasper aquifers in the Houston-Galveston region, Texas. This dataset shows current-year (2015-2016) water-level changes for each aquifer, 5-year (2011-2016) water-level changes for each aquifer, long-term (1990-2016 and 1977-2016) water-level changes for the Chicot and Evangeline aquifers, and long-term (2000-2016) water-level changes for the Jasper aquifer. The...

This dataset is the result of measurements of groundwater levels in the Equus Beds aquifer near Wichita, Kansas, in January 2016. Potentiometric surfaces are interpolated for the shallow and deep parts of the aquifer, and rasters of the potentiometric surfaces are included in this data release. Wells were classified as being screened in the shallow or deep parts of the aquifer based on station name (some wells have a layer identifier in the station name) or, if no indication of aquifer layer was given in the station name, based on the depth of the well; wells with depths less than 80 feet below land surface were classified as shallow and wells with depths of 80 feet or deeper were classified as deep. Contours with...

These contours represent static groundwater levels based on depth-to-water measurements made at 165 monitoring wells during water years 2016-2020 in Smith Valley and Mason Valley, Nevada. For each monitoring well, the median groundwater-level altitude during the five-year period (2016-2020) was used for developing the groundwater-level contours. Depth-to-water measurements were collected by the USGS and the Nevada Division of Water Resources (NDWR).

This data release contains GIS layers and associated metadata in support of a hydrologic assessment of the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge, New Jersey. Water-table elevation contours and a depth-to-water grid are included. Water levels measured at groundwater and surface-water sites located in and near the refuge as part of a water-level synoptic study conducted primarily during May 2015 were used in the development of both layers, along with other spatial data. Included is one shapefile with associated metadata: ebf_wtelev_spring2015: continuous water-table elevation contours. Also included is one grid file with associated metadata: ebf_dtw_spring2015: depth-to-water grid. This data release supports...

The regional Ozark aquifer potentiometric-surface map shows the altitude at which the water level would have risen in tightly cased wells and represents conditions during the period from November 2014 through January 2015. Water levels were measured during this period to ensure that wells had adequate time to recover from previous summer pumping and prior to the start of the 2015 summer pumping season. Groundwater-level data from 178 wells cased completely in and open to the Ozark aquifer are available from the USGS National Water Information System (NWIS; data available at http:// waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis). Streams and springs in the study area represent the intersection of the groundwater table with land surface;...

These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Utah Department of Environmental Quality has developed a geographic database of selected ground-water-level altitude contours and surfaces for Utah. The contour data are derived from studies published by the USGS and the State of Utah. The published contours were converted to digital format and attributes documenting information such as the water-level altitude, the year...

These contours represent static groundwater levels based on depth-to-water measurements in Smith Valley and Mason Valley, Nevada, for fall 2006. Groundwater-level contours were first published by Lopes and Allander (2009) and subsequently published electronically by Medina and others (2022). Since the time of the dataset's original publication, the position and land-surface altitude at 23 monitoring wells in Smith Valley used to develop the original 2006 groundwater-level contours have been updated. As such, 10 contours in Smith Valley were revised using the updated monitoring well locations and land-surface altitudes while maintaining, to the extent possible, the original interpretation made by Lopes and Allander...

This dataset consists of points representing selected monitoring well locations and median groundwater-level altitudes for the water year period 1991-1995 that were used to develop groundwater-level contours in Smith and Mason Valleys, Nevada. Groundwater-level measurements were collected by the USGS and the Nevada Division of Water Resources (NDWR).

These contours represent water levels based on depth-to-groundwater measurements made at 98 wells in July of 2012 in the Lahontan Valley near Fallon, NV. Water level measurements collected before or after July of 2012 were included only in cases where the well was being pumped or was inaccessible in July 2012. The contours were developed to compare with 1992 water level altitude contoured by Seiler and Allander (1993).
