The USGS Protected Areas Database of the United States (PAD-US) is the nation's inventory of protected areas, including public open space and voluntarily provided, private protected areas, identified as an A-16 National Geospatial Data Asset in the Cadastral Theme (http://www.fgdc.gov/ngda-reports/NGDA_Datasets.html). PAD-US is an ongoing project with several published versions of a spatial database of areas dedicated to the preservation of biological diversity, and other natural, recreational or cultural uses, managed for these purposes through legal or other effective means. The geodatabase maps and describes public open space and other protected areas. Most areas are public lands owned in fee; however, long-term...

This dataset (located by latitude and longitude) is a subset of the geochemical dataset found in Chap. E, Appendix 2, Disc 1, and used in this study of the Lower Kittanning coal bed. That dataset is a compilation of data from the U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) National Coal Resources Data System (NCRDS) USCHEM (U.S. geoCHEMical), The Pennsylvania State University (PSU), the West Virginia Economic and Geological Survey (WVGES), and the Ohio Division of Geological Survey (OHGS) coal quality databases as well as published U.S. Bureau of Mines (USBM) data. The metadata file for the complete dataset is found in Chap. E, Appendix 3, Disc 1 (please see it for more detailed information on this geochemical dataset). This...

This dataset is a polygon coverage of counties limited to the extent of the Pocahontas No. 3 coal bed resource areas and attributed with statistics on these coal quality parameters: ash yield (percent), sulfur (percent), SO2 (lbs per million Btu), calorific value (Btu/lb), arsenic (ppm) content and mercury (ppm) content. The file has been generalized from detailed geologic coverages found elsewhere in Professional Paper 1625-C. The attributes were generated from public data found in the geochemical dataset found in Chap. H, Appendix 2, Disc 1. Please see the metadata file found in Chap. H, Appendix 3, Disc 1, for more detailed information on the geochemical attributes. The county statistical data used for this data...

Tracor MBA under a contract to U.S. DOI Bureau of Mines designed, developed, fabricated and demonstrated a conveyor belt service machine. It is self -contained, battery powered, rubber tired and capable of handling, storing and transporting conveyor belting, wire rope and associated structures for sectional conveyor belts. While moving the tail section to its next position the machine discharges the belting, wire rope and belt structures. The belting is elevated and separated to provide for the insertion of the structures with minimum manual effort. A hydraulic system provides the power for steering, braking, winding or unwinding (under controlled tension) belting and wire rope, operate a load bed conveyor, connection...
