This metadata record describes 19 annual Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement (CMAQ) Program variables ( kilograms per hectare) for each year between 2002 - 2012 ( Zhang and others, 2012, Schwede and others, 2014) compiled for two spatial components of the NHDPlus version 2.1 data suite hereto referred to as (NHDV2) for the conterminous United States; 1) individual reach catchments and 2) reach catchments accumulated upstream through the river network. This dataset can be linked to the NHDPlusv2 data suite by the unique identifier COMID. Reach catchment information characterizes data at the local scale. Reach catchments accumulated upstream through the river network characterizes cumulative upstream...

The Mercury Deposition Network (MDN) is a national database of weekly concentrations of total mercury in precipitation and the seasonal and annual flux of total mercury in wet deposition. The data is used to develop information on spatial and seasonal trends in mercury deposited to surface waters, forested watersheds, and other sensitive receptors. The MDN is part of the National Atmospheric Deposition Project (NADP) Network. Analysis of precipitation samples for total- and methylmercury is performed by Frontier Geosciences, Inc., Seattle WA, USA. Frontier Geosciences provides the environmental sciences community with uncompromisingly high-quality contract research, project design and management, and analytical...

Depth-integrated snowpack chemistry was measured just prior to maximum snowpack depth during the winters of 1992?1999 at 12 sites co-located with National Atmospheric Deposition Program/National Trend Network (NADP/NTN) sites in the central and southern Rocky Mountains, USA. Winter volume-weighted mean wet-deposition concentrations were calculated for the NADP/NTN sites, and the data were compared to snowpack concentrations using the paired t-test and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. No statistically significant differences were indicated in concentrations of SO42? or NO3? (p>0.1). Small, but statistically significant differences (p0.03) were indicated for all other solutes analyzed. Differences were largest for Ca2+...

This metadata record describes 4 tabular data sets that estimate fraction of the total dry or wet deposition due to emissions from fertilizer and animal manure based on output from the Community Multiscale Air Quality modeling system (CMAQ, Zhang and others, 2019) compiled for two spatial components of the NHDPlus version 2.1 data suite (hereto referred as NHDPlusv2) for the conterminous United States; 1) individual reach catchments and 2) reach catchments accumulated upstream through the river network.
