This data release contains the climate change model inputs and Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model outputs from 360 HUC-8 watersheds in the Midwest United States (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin), that were generated using the HAWQS (Hydrologic and Water Quality System) platform (https://hawqs.tamu.edu). The summarized data for a watershed-based climate change vulnerability assessment for U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is also provided, along with the R code used to summarize the raw outputs. This volume's release consists of 64642 media files captured by autonomous wildlife monitoring devices under the project, Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. The attached files listed below include several CSV files that provide information about the data release. The file, "media.csv" provides the metadata about the media, such as filename and date/time of capture. The actual media files are housed within folders under the volume's "child items" as compressed files. A critical CSV file is "dictionary.csv", which describes each CSV file, including field names, data types, descriptions, and the relationship of each field to fields other CSV files. Some of the media files may have been "tagged" or "annotated"...

Eggshells of 13 waterbird species were divided in half longitudinally and the outer eggshell membrane was removed from one of the halves. Eggshell thickness was measured for both eggshell halves, both with and without the outer eggshell membrane. The eggshell membrane thickness was calculated by taking the difference between the two thickness measurements. These data support the following publication: Santolo, G.M., Peterson, S.H., Cooney, B., Hartman, C.A., Herzog, M.P. and Ackerman, J.T., 2024. Eggshell membrane thickness and its contribution to total eggshell thickness for 13 waterbird species. The Wilson Journal of Ornithology. https://doi.org/10.1676/23-00017

These data are the results of a spatially interpolated integrated population model (SIIPM) fit to count and demographic data collected from populations of Greater Sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus; hereafter, sage-grouse) located in Nevada, U.S.A. during 2013-2021. We used a novel framework, using integrated population models (IPMs), to express demographic relatedness among sampled and unsampled populations using geographic principles of spatial autocorrelation (Shepard, 1968; Tobler, 1970). Specifically, the framework pairs relatively inexpensive population count data with spatially interpolated demographic estimates. When conducted within a Bayesian framework, spatially interpolated demographic parameters...

This data release contains links to two child items containing hydrology and hydraulic modeling data and supplemental geospatial data for selected stream crossing sites in the Squannacook River Basin in north-central Massachusetts. The child item named “Hydraulic model data for selected stream crossing sites in the Squannacook River Basin, North-Central Massachusetts” contains U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Hydrologic Engineering Center River Analysis System (HEC-RAS) hydraulic model files along with field survey data associated with each stream crossing location. This data release also includes a data dictionary defining culvert designs, site locations, modeled flows and water surface elevations, and aquatic habitat...

The risk of lampricide applications (such as 4-Nitro-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenol, TFM) to non-target fauna continues to be a concern within the Great Lakes Fishery Commission sea lamprey control program, especially among imperiled aquatic species—such as native freshwater mussels. The Grand River (Ohio) is routinely treated for larval sea lampreys (Petromyzon marinus) and this river contains populations of the Round Hickorynut mussel (Obovaria subrotunda) which was Federally listed in 2023. Given the spatial overlap between areas treated with TFM and extant populations of O. subrotunda, information on its sensitivity to TFM is needed. This dataset was used to evaluate the acute toxicity of TFM to O. olivaria and O....

Data were collected during experiments to determine the effects of water chemistry on carbon dioxide toxicity to zebra mussels (Dreissena polymorpha). Water chemistry parameters were collected for the water used in the study. Data were collected to model the relationship of carbon dioxide and pH in various water chemistries. Measurements were made to describe the animals used in the study.

An updated version has been published: Halstead, B.J., Kleeman, P.M., and Rose, J.P., 2024, Northwestern pond turtle survey data in northern California forest streams, 2021-2022: U.S. Geological Survey data release, https://doi.org/10.5066/P96GAPCC. These data are from joint visual encounter and environmental DNA (eDNA) surveys conducted for northwestern pond turtles (Actinemys marmorata) in streams on privately-owned timberlands in northern California.

The dataset consists of two csv files one for home range and net displacement analysis for adult snakes with at least 20 locations collected during the study period and one for the analysis of movement metrics for all adult snakes in the study. The home range data contains the calculated 100 percent and 95 percent minimum convex polygons (MCP) and 95 percent adaptive local convex hull (a-LoCoH) home range estimates, 3 measures of net displacement from the release location of the snake as well as other pertinent information about individual snakes (year included in study, id, treatment group, site, snout to vent length (SVL)). The movement data contains calculations of the following movement metrics: sinuosity, start-to-end...

Boreal Partners in Flight developed the Alaska Landbird Monitoring Survey (ALMS) primarily to monitor breeding populations of landbirds in the vast off-road areas of Alaska in conjunction with data collected from the roadside North American Breeding Bird Survey (BBS). ALMS is a collaborative program in which agencies and other entities conduct standardized surveys of breeding birds and their habitats on the lands they manage and then provide the data to the U.S. Geological Survey Alaska Science Center for analysis and archiving. The ALMS monitoring program comprises a set of survey blocks that have been selected in a stratified-random design primarily across state and Federal natural resource lands in Alaska with...
