View looking northward at the hogback north of ancestral Willow Creek. Ridge (left distance) composed of Green River beds dipping westward; the Strike valley underlain by the Colton Formation. The light-gray beds that have been quarried are part of the Flagstaff limestone; they stand vertically, and the beds just to the east of them, forming a slope, are part of the Colton formation. A major high-angle normal fault, dipping eastward, extends along the east flank of the Flagstaff limestone. Exposure is in Secs. 3 and 4, T. 21 S., R. 1 E; and Secs. 34 and 35, T. 20 S., R. 1 E. Sevier County, Utah. Spring 1980.

Other edge of road is on the downthrown block just below the jeep's nose. Note subsidiary fractures in subsidence zone. This is the road I drove down the night of the earthquake.
