Summary: "Migratory patterns of Yukon River inconnu Stenodus leucichthys [sheefish] were evaluated using otolith aging and microchemical techniques and radio telemetry. Research was conducted each fall between 1997 and 1999, on inconnu captured at a study site 1,200 river km from the Bering Sea. Biological data were collected to establish maturity and spawning condition. Sagital otoliths were analyzed optically to determine age distribution, and microchemically to determine amphidromy. Inconnu were tagged with radio transmitters and located in upstream spawning destinations. Inconnu captured at the study site were uniformly large, mature fish preparing to spawn. This report presents the results of a harvest survey and ethnographic research project that investigated the subsistence uses of large land mammals and furbearers in Game Management Unit 25 in the Yukon Flats region of Interior Alaska. Large land mammal species harvested and used by Yukon Flats residents include moose Alces alces, caribou Rangifer tarandus, black bear Ursus americanus, and brown bear Ursus arctos. Furbearing species included in this study are marten Martes americana, lynx Lynx canadensis, and wolf Canis lupus. This data package includes 17,014 pairs of raster geotiffs. Each pair is made up of two geotiff rasters derived from historical observations from Landsat satellites (04-09) over the Yukon, Kuskokwim, and Tanana rivers in Alaska. One raster reports estimated mid-day water surface temperature (ST) in degrees Celsius (deg_Cc). The second raster reports the surface temperature quality assessment (sST_QA_c) and provides the ST product uncertainty (also in degrees). The period of observation is May through October for the years 1984-2022.

From 2017-2019, framework metallogenic studies were completed in the eastern Yukon-Tanana upland in eastern Alaska. Numerous previously undated plutons known or suspected to contain components of porphyry, epithermal, and intrusion-related gold systems and associated deposit types were sampled for age and zircon trace element determinations between the Black Mountain area and the Yukon border, north of the Tanana River and south of the Yukon River. This report presents the findings of a geologic and geotechnical evaluation of a landslide at the Yukon River bridge (the E.L. Patton Bridge). The Yukon River bridge landslide occurred in fall 2012 between approximately 375 and 575 feet west of the bridge. Although there was no damage to the bridge foundation, the landslide's close proximity to the bridge and concerns over additional failures prompted multiple evaluations, including landslide documentation, drainage assessments, and geotechnical studies. This digital publication, GPR 2010-1, contains data produced from airborne geophysical surveys conducted in 2009 for the Moran survey area in the south-central Melozitna mining district, Melozitna and Tanana quadrangles, central Alaska. Aeromagnetic, electromagnetic (EM), and radiometric data were acquired by helicopter for about 653 sq miles. Fugro Airborne Survey's frequency-domain DIGHEM V system was used for the EM data. GPR 2010-1 includes (1) raw and processed linedata; (2) gridded, Google Earth, and Geotiff formats of the calculated linedata; (3) maps of the data; and (4) vector files of data contours and flight lines.

This Raw Data File provides lithologic descriptions of core fragments recovered from a series of core holes drilled by Exxon (mid-80s) in the uplands bordering the Yukon Flats basin. In addition to descriptions of the material, the tabulated file includes geographic location, core hole numbers, an age estimate, core fragment depth, general lithology, grain size, and facies interpretation. The author examined these core materials in Fairbanks during winter and spring 2002. This work was done in preparation for an assessment carried out by the U.S. Geological Survey of undiscovered, technically recoverable hydrocarbon resources in the Yukon Flats basin.
